overall visit was BAD. 1st, tables were extremely sticky and I asked for mine to be wiped down and the staff member gave me a dirty cloth and told me to âgive it back when Iâm doneâ - fair enough if you was busy but there was 3 members behind the till having a chat so I donât see why a staff member couldâve not cleaned the table for me, but hey thereâs worse problems I guess. 2nd, I came with my mum and she has mild Parkinsonâs and therefore requires mugs with handles, for some reason there was no clean cups as there was a table full of dirty ones (see photo attached). It was takeaway cups ONLY, so my mother prepares for this situations and always brings a spare mug in her bag. Anyway we bought our drinks, sat down and I poured my mothers drink into her mug we brought with us -this was a standard cup of tea mug, no safety hazard at all. However the same lady who had served us, told me that we could not do this and had to leave unless I put it back into the takeaway cup?? Despite buying the drinks here. I explained my mother had Parkinsonâs and that we brought are drinks here, but apparently itâs against store policy to use your own cup, but how is this any different from people who come in and use their own takeaway cups???? 3rd, there was no brown sugar out, so I asked at the till (in which the staff rolled her eyes at me and said âwhat is it this timeâ), being the better person and ignoring the rudeness because maybe she was having a bad a day or just has a stuck up attitude I said âsorry but I canât see any of your brown sugar out, got any more?â In which she replied with âtake the hint, if it not out we anit got it, sure it wonât kill to not have sugar once, just use the sweeteners initâ I can confirm I wonât be back again, but hey not like one customer is gunna do damage just thought Iâd worn others. And no the sign on the winter does not say anything about the takeaway cups, just says about the toilets being...
Read moreVery happy to finally see a Costa in Margate! Westwood is too far, full of kids and have to cross a tonne of roads to get to it. But this one is right round the corner! People are complaining saying it's not welcome and blah but who gives a crap!? Margate is broken because it's holding on to it's old, outdated ways of life and no Mary Potarse could help revive it. My advice to people who dislikes establishments in an old town:
If you don't modernise a town you fall behind the race you become boring, uninteresting, no one cares about Dave's Coffee from a Kettle just because the business existed for over 2 generations. Margate has lost because society is fast and modern and those stuck in the slow Dave's Coffee from a Kettle ways are dying out.. slowly. urkk! If you modernise a town you do 2 things, make it interesting, make it appealing for commercialism which generates more jobs, Costa Coffee hire at least 15 staff on rotation way more than Dave's Coffee from a Kettle!! The same goes for a new Tesco.. 'Pulling people away from the High Street' I walked down the High Street to get my coffee and damn. They won't be missed. Let businesses and industries modernise Margate. They don't come down here to ruin Margate, they see the potential in the town and invest in it with their coffee shops and super markets.
Finally Old Town Margate... Is amazing. Simple tourism right there Old Town Margate is perfect, you modernise the area around to bring in tourists then they will venture to Old Town Margate to visit the local town have a look around all the nanny shops selling gypsy stuff which Mary Potarse thinks will bring people back to Margate if you flood the high streets with them.
I'm getting way off topic. Welcome Costa! Nice to see a modern, successful store (UK's favourite coffee shop... hells yeah!) on the...
Read moreI visited this store earlier today with my family. There was a bit of a line as it was busy. I placed my order with a lovely blonde lady who appeared to be new. My initial order was fine then I decided to change some of my order, this was fine but the person who had to amend it ( she had brown hair) appeared rather irritated. I then had to change my order to having take away cups as I thought that I might have to leave due to my child acting up. This request was was received with contempt by the server who then proceeded to do it through what appeared like gritted teeth. She was visibly irritated and I mentioned it, the lovely blonde lady stated that it had been a long morning and smiled tentatively⊠The lady with brown hair could do with some training on customer service, if she is unable to âput a smile onâ and deal with the public then perhaps she should work in...
