If I could leave zero stars I would. I have never been anywhere and left a poor standard of review, but this place really deserves it. Our order was placed on arrival and we were NOT informed of any kind of delay in service, however after patiently waiting for 50 minutes for our food I enquired to how much longer it would be. A very rude lady who seemed to be mostly serving drinks at the time, snapped at me and said "you were told there would be a delay ". Said that I certainly wasn't and she rolls her eyes and walked off. Came back a moment later to snap at me again "5 minutes. A very polite more senior member of staff said nicely it'll be another 4 minutes. The food took another 10 minutes. I liked Charlie's, I am giving it an apostrophe here as without it, the name would be referring to several people named Charlie. As well as changing the name, I am also going to recommend the place, it is in a great position in the harbour paved area with a great view without traffic in your face if you want to sit outside. You can see the sea (if you stand up), the food is good and probably the most reasonably priced in the area, eateries in which have got prohibitively expensive whilst Charlie's has, sensibly, retained prices which allow customers to leave without a nagging sense of resentment, a common experience in this fashionable part of Margate. Popped in for an iced coffee and asked if they had a dairy alternative to which they replied they didn’t as the iced coffee was bought in ready made? I was shocked as to what I saw next… a glass bottle of happy shopper branded iced coffee which I purchase in my local corner shop priced at £1 being poured into the cup. What was I charged for this? £3.75… I reluctantly visited a second time as my child was hungry and every where else was fully booked. Her children’s meal was appalling. The sausages were rock hard and inedible as full of gristle, and the chips contained a number of completely raw uncooked slices of potato. My tuna jacket potato was also awful.
