Really poor customer service at Costa, Rickmansworth High Street

This incident occurred in the Rickmansworth high street branch where one of their employees launched a verbal assault on a single mother and her friend who were both there with very young children.

The police are currently pursuing a Public Order Offence.

My friend visited the Rickmansworth branch with another friend and their young children. Once they found a space for all to sit together and out of the heavy rain, they went to order. She was met by total hostility, the barista started ranting to her saying that it was unacceptable that she had walked in with a “Starbucks coffee” and he refused to serve her. The cup was actually filled with water as her baby had thrown her beaker on the floor. Also, they were queuing to order drinks and food for all of them from Costa.

She explained that it made no economical sense to forgo the sale of three coffees and food for the sake of one small cup of water for her baby from a branded cup, which clearly made him angrier!

The barista aggressively chased them to the end of the counter and in an effort to intimidate, continued to shout profanity within earshot of the whole shop and young children.

Ironically after being chased out of Costa, they were all welcomed into the Starbucks branch and had a lovely lunch. In fact they confirmed they had no such policy where they would deny custom to anyone bringing in branded cups from...

Visited on Sunday 29 May around 10:15. Ordered a medium coffee and croissant on the deal on the board which says buy a medium coffee and you can buy a croissant for £1 - before 11am. I couldn't understand why the £s on the till were so high so queried it. Was told deal no longer available. So I told them to remove the croissant from the order. This sort of sharp practice irritates the hell out of me. They said nothing when I ordered it and indicated the deal and just applied normal prices at the till. We managed to sit outside away from the noise inside which was a plus point. We visit this Costa under duress as we don't like the dogs all over the place in Caffè Nero. But after Sunday we shall see where else we can go. It's a shame. Since they refurbished the cafe it's a nice place to go. Tables need to be cleared...

Yes, it’s a costa, what do you expect? well today i didn’t expect a lovely meme we of staff to remember me (i’m not a regular customer) and my drink order, i also didn’t expect how friendly the staff were towards me. i work local and (years ago) used to go to school locally and i’m confident in saying it’s definitely gotten better over the years and, genuinely, all the staff i’ve ever had the pleasure of having a real conversation with are lovely. unfortunately i don’t remember her name but the lady that served me today was so nice it put me in the best mood before work, thank you :) (sn: costa isn’t as expensive as most make...
