Gharrana - Indian Kitchen and Bar Altrincham — Restaurant in Trafford

I recently dined at Gharaana in Altrincham, and it was a fantastic experience! The ambiance is warm and welcoming, perfect for a cozy meal with family or friends. The staff were attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home.

The highlight, of course, was the food. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The spices were perfectly balanced, and the ingredients tasted fresh and high-quality. The chicken tikka masala was a standout, with tender pieces of chicken in a rich, creamy sauce. The naan bread was soft and buttery, and the biryani was fragrant and delicious.

I also appreciated the thoughtful menu, which offered a great variety of dishes to suit different tastes and dietary preferences.

We decided to try here as the menu looked nice, and it was a relatively new place. Service was fantastic the lady serving us was really friendly and was very responsive in her service, attentive and ensured to check in that we had everything we needed. We ordered the platter to start and then 2 curries for mains. The lamp chops on the platter were one of the best I have had, lamb was very tender and not chewy. It was our first time trying the cottage cheese tikka, this was really tasty and will definitely get this again.

Flavour was nice on the curry's, the lamb gosht was tasty I would say the sauce was very gravy like on this. This place is not for vegetarians. Their food is not worth the cost. We tried their veg momos, did not like it at all. Same with their calcutta chowmein noodles, they were not restaurant quality at all and were salty too.. The food took long time to come although it was only 3 of us in the restaurant.. they do have advantage of being at the centre of the town and the place is reasonably tidy.. but that’s about it..
