BENGAL PALACE (Authentic Asian Cuisine) — Restaurant in Wakefield

My order never arrived. I ordered late in the evening and thought they might cancel the order but they accepted it. Got to 23:00 and the app said it had been delivered, it hadn’t, tried calling the restaurant however it was closed at this point. Waited 20 minutes, still no arrival. I had to order another takeaway, still got charged for this one though. Tried to call them back the day after to explain the order hadn’t arrive, they denied it, were rude and said it “definitely” had arrived - this wasn’t the case. My family has ordered with them many times before, I’ve eaten in the restaurant twice and recommended the place to others. We know one of the people who work there (Sid) and this has never happened, so I thought I’d try to explain this and just to let them know about what had happened with the order rather than outright complain however they did not accept this at all and had nothing to say in apology but instead just denied what I’d said and were rude about it. I’ve contacted Just Eat to let them know. I would like a refund or at least for on a phone call like that for them to validate one poor experience out of many good ones - I cannot believe they outright denied what I’d said without asking...

This is our favourite Curry house and yes, we have tried others in the area just out of curiosity, but we always go back to Bengal Palace. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Their starters are too big for me so when they bring a starter out for my other half they (without asking) bring a spare plate for me just in case i am sharing with him. There is a main course i really love the flavours of, but i cant have it as spicy as it is normally made, but they make it just to the right level of heat for me. My mum is on a medically related diet, which also includes spices. She always had the Salmon Tandoori dish before the diet, but now Bengal cook her the Salmon, but without a lot of spices. She loves their Mango chutney too and has a lot of it with poppadoms so on request Bengal gives extra just for her 🙂 . As for the service, we have no complaints at all. They are always polite and friendly. The price is extremely reasonable and even though I know their prices are to go up very soon they will still be very good value for money.
