Prego Pizzeria — Restaurant in Wakefield

We visited Prego yesterday after visiting the Wakefield Theatre Royal to see the wonderful Beauty and the Beast panto. The restaurant is very clean, tidy with a really friendly atmosphere. The staff are lovely and ready to help. There were 8 of us in total. Some of us ordered pizza and some pasta dishes. The kids had pizza, when these turned up they were incredibly generous portions which the kids couldn’t finish and they boxed up the leftovers for us to take home. The food was beautiful. All of us, apart from the kids, cleared our plates and some of us ordered desserts ( I’d highly recommend the Tiramisu). When we asked for the bill they brought lollipops for the kids. The food is nice but you're made to feel differently if you go there using a Groupon voucher. I called specifically to ask for a downstairs table prior to the day and then called a second time on the day to double check that we were going to be seated downstairs. Both times the girl said yes, no problem (and she knew we were using Groupon!) We got there and we weren't allowed, the guy muttered something along the lines of because we were on Groupon! We went in for a nice meal and we love the place we were greeted by friendly staff and it was really cosy and smelled amazing and we sat right next to the pizza bar and watched our food being cooked. We had a starter and a main and both meals were delicious. I have fish cakes and my hubby had pate and they were both perfectly cooked and had so much flavour. For mains I had the risotto vegetali and my hubby had the meat feast pizza the were big portions and perfectly cooked and we even took some home we were that stuffed.
