Cafe 19 — Restaurant in Wakefield

Ordered a vegetarian sausage sandwich and it came not cooked inside and was raw.I took the sandwich back to Sarah the owner,she said I can guarantee it is 100% cooked and we don't put it in the deep fat fryer as customers say it drys them out.She did offer to make me another but as it came raw by microwave or dryed out by deep fat frying I didn't feel I had any option but attempt to eat it!!.I tried but I just couldn't face it so took it back again and said I can't eat it.I told her they shouldn't be microwaved as it was Linda Markey sausage and it dosnt say to microwave.Sarah wouldn't have none of it as was terrible in the way she dealt with my complaint.She was nasty and said was I telling her how to cook! Which I wasn't.I just wanted it cooked properly.She then said well Witherspoon microwave there sausage.I said they may do but pre cooked then frozen and microwaved.She said she had a special supplier of the sausage and I know 100% it was Linda McCartney as I have been vegetarian for 25 years and I have had them alot and know how to cook them.You really let yourself down today Sarah in the way you handled my complaint.The meals my friends had were also poor.With frozen veg which was hard which my friend left as she dare not complain as you had been nasty to myself.so my other friend ordered quiche and got what looked like a tiny omelette with fish on!!.The knife was dirty.But again they dare not say anything because you had been so horrible to me and really upset me.I was shaking and was crying when I went out.It was your mistake and you handled it badly.It goes without saying we will never ever come back...

Used to eat here but its so hit and miss that we stopped and a Simple breakfast order had to go back 3 times as it was wrong even tho the order was written down,we asked for a. Slimming breakfast it came as a normal full of grease and fat on Bacon with white bread after specifying brown and no tinned tomatoes which shed written it all down, complain if you dare as Sarah does not like this, and served a child uncooked food then said it was no big deal, if the place is busy they are like headless chickens and I have seen one lady who worked there cracking eggs and throwing the dripping shells over other cooked food on the stove, for a big lady she serves small portions especially the chips if there is a few left from the last batch cooked then that's all you get, we stopped Going which is a Shame as not many food...

We ordered food and were told it would be a 30 minute wait which was fine. 40 minutes later 1 meal arrived but no sign of the other. No sign of cutlery to eat with or our drinks either. I asked 3 different waitresses when we would get the other meal but no answer came. After almost an hour a woman came out and very rudely told me I’d only been waiting 15 minutes waiving a receipt to ‘prove’ it. In reality they just hadn’t put our order through properly in the first place. They got very stroppy when I asked for my money back and ten minutes later came and slammed some cash down on the table and left without saying a word. I don’t care how busy you are, this is no way to run a business. You can’t be rude to customers or try to lie to their face about when they placed their order. Avoid this place...
