Another wonderful visit to Anise. Been several times over the years and somehow it gets better. The service is excellent. There are thoughtful touches which show that the staff are well trained and experienced. The food is fresh, served piping hot and incredibly tasty. We shared the set meal for two. We had warm, crispy poppadoms, served with the usual sides and they were utterly delicious. Then, a mixed meat starter - sheek kebab, onion bhaji and chicken tikka. The meat was tender, spiced and cooked to perfection. We had Bombay aloo, chicken tikka masala and korai lamb served with a huge, hot naan and pilau rice. The curries were absolutely beautiful. There was plenty to go between us, and we even left some and took the rest home in containers which they were happy to provide us with! My friend then had some lovely chocolate icecream, and I had a fresh coffee. £45 between us, for a fantastic meal and excellent service. We really enjoyed it and my friend is now a convert and took home a copy of the takeaway menu! Thank you for a lovely...
Read moreWhat to say about this Indian restaurant...... One word, Amazing! The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated, and the tables were beautifully dressed. The staff were ALL well presented and very chatty and polite, and we had a really nice chat with the waiter. The food came out in a good amount of time and was beautiful! The "spicy tomatoe" part of the pickle tray (instead of a lime/dill pickle) was amazing. Not too spicy either. We ate the lot. I recommend the Chicken Kashmiri (so long as you like banana and chicken together, don't judge. it's a fantastic combo) the drinks were so reasonable too. £3 for a whiskey in a restaurant seems cheap to me. Anyway, I'm babbling. My mother-in-law had a fantastic birthday meal out, and all 4 of us would recommend this place for a meal if you're in the Wrexham (or even...
Read moreThe restaurant is situated just opposite the entrance to the Eagles Meadow car park and so there's absolutely no problem in parking.
I went early on a Monday evening so I was the only person in the restaurant but they seemed to be doing a very busy take away trade.
I decided to go for the mixed tandoori grill and it was a good choice as all of the meat was very tender and spicy but not too hot and it was accompanied by rice and a separate curry sauce in addition to the usual yoghurt/mint sauce.
The Nero d'Avola I had with it was ok but nothing special but reasonable value for the price.
The service was very good without being over eager and forever trying to top up the wine glass - it was there if needed.
A good meal and recommended if...
