We were looking for a small venue for a wedding reception of 40-50 guests. We were recommended Phoenix and came for food a couple times and decided we would like to have our wedding here, especially given the recent price hike in hotels and how busy they were post-pandemic.
We went for a chat with the owner and discussed what we would like for our special day. Buffet, meal for everybody, set up, music etc. They were very friendly and helpful, (it's a family run business) you can tell that they take pride in what they do.
The big day came and they did not disappoint. Food started coming out when expected! Due to the small size of the venue the food could not come out all at once, but this wasn't a problem since it all came out quickly. Worth mentioning no orders were mixed up and despite he volume of food, the quality never slipped. The girls bringing the food out were so polite and kept everyone happy. They kept our cake safe in the back for the cutting and then the buffet came .. absolutely delicious and generous portions for only £20/person. Oh and the baklava's were absolutely incredible, best I have ever had.
I would definitely recommend this place for a coffee, food or an event. It made our day special and given they have only been around for a couple of years I know it will only get better. The only drawback is parking, but this is not the fault of the venue and places are available nearby. Bangor needs more places like this , so...

Their breakfast menu included a combination of conventional British/European, and Turkish dishes.
We opted for the Turkish dishes; Sujuk and Menemen. Moments before our food arrived we were greeted at our table by the fragrance of our freshly prepared breakfast. You will have to visit to experience what I mean. The food smelled (and tasted) fantastic.
Turkish tea and Turkish coffee were served in a traditional Turkish fashion. Also, there were numerous tempting sweet-treat options close to the till, including excellent Baklava!
Zero complaints, and we are looking forward to returning to try some of the non-breakfast options, which include a broad selection of kebabs, and other Turkish cuisine, as well as presumably...
Read moreUpon entering the restaurant, we were excited to try out the menu offerings. However, our enthusiasm quickly waned as we found ourselves waiting far too long just to receive a menu.
What made matters worse was witnessing another group who arrived after us being promptly served, while we continued to wait without any acknowledgment from the staff.
Frustrated by the lack of attention and the missed opportunity, we made the decision to leave without even placing an order. It’s truly disheartening when a potentially enjoyable dining experience is overshadowed by such poor service.
I sincerely hope that the management takes our feedback seriously and implements necessary improvements to prevent other guests from experiencing similar disappointments.
The atmosphere was quite...
