Black Lion Hotel — Restaurant in Wales

Been here many times but pub is a joke. Wanted gin & lemonade but told no lemonade - how can a pub not have a basic like lemonade so queried what if I wanted a shandy - reply was o I can do a shandy as have bottled lemonade but not allowed to use for anything else - stupidest answer ever ! Then went to order food 30 mins before last food orders were taken and was told no more food orders even though we checked before arriving at pub. There was 6 of us with a round costing £34 and would have food if allowed then swiftly departed. Will not return to this joke of a pub. Shocking !!!

Hahaha - what a crazy response from you - 1 - it was 31 mins before food orders closed when we attempted to order food 2 - 11 of us were in your pub in November and you had lemonade then 3 - your staff member was not verbally attacked up to her face. 3 people were talking to her why lemonade could not be used in shorts. 4 -...

I just wanted to say how well the staff at the black lion deal with difficult customers. I was there on saturday, sat at the bar when i witnessed a group of people being argumentative and rude to the bar staff. All over lemonade on the pump not being available. There was an alternative offered however this was not good enough still. The young girl behind the bar did her best to accomodate the group but to no avail. They even decided to have a go at the member of bar staff after her shift ended as she was outside waiting for a taxi home! The bar was busy and even the chef had to come from the kitchen and jump on the bar and help out. I have recieved nothing but exceptional service on all my visits as have many others. I don't know many people who would remain calm and polite while being spoken to like they were. Well done guys. Keep doing what...

Haven't visited Llandaff for a while so thought I'd take my friends out for a fun pub lunch yesterday.

The pub has had new management since I was there last and the new bar staff are really friendly, knowledgeable about the area and the food and drinks available.

We went on a Sunday so roast was only option, however there was a choice of beef or turkey, I opted for turkey and was suprised that I was able to add extras to enjoyed the Yorkshire puddings with my dinner. The food was tasty, plentiful and had a home cooked taste and look to it.

We are coming back down in two weeks to try out the weekdays menu, the choices looked really good and I think my mouths watering at the burgers already.
