A lovely nineteenth century restored mansion and grounds. It’s a short walk from Llandaf village so could be combined with a visit there as well. The grounds are really pleasant for a walk around. Insole Court hosts lots of activities, there’s something for everyone here. I’ve found it useful for baby activities: Shiny Happy People, Music with Mummy and Yumi Yoga (and baby massage). It’s well worth looking at their website to see what’s on. Insole Court has a popular coffee shop, with lots of seating outside when the weather’s nice. There’s a decent sized car park as you enter from Fairwater Road. If the car park’s full you can park on-street on the streets behind Insole Court (you can access it via the grounds).

Gorgeous place, so beautiful done up! Gorgeous garden around it, and lovely teashop! Nice place, we spend around 1 to 2 hours. Also the vegetable community garden is worth a visit! Once a month there is a farmer's market, every last Sunday of the month from 9 till 1, delicious bread, cheese, meat plants, spices, chocolates, craft beers and ciders. My favourite was fermented vegetables, delicious! This time there was a craft fair, lovely homemade stuff there. The Lady in Insole court told us that to go upstairs cost £5 to go round and with an audio you listen to the history of the building and the people who used to live there. Definitely do that one day. We had excellent coffee and yummy carrot cake.

We visited this historic house and found it really fascinating and insightful and the fact it tells a great story of the development of Cardiff and its riches which were built off the hard labour of coal miners must never be forgotten. The community and trust who are putting this house back to life are truly inspiring. The staff are very welcoming and have time to chat. The Potting Shed cafe is fabulous and good gorgeous wekcines disabled people but quite small on level access areas also seating outside for wRner days or brave visitors. Loads of space for children to run around and clean toilets. It's possible to hire out the spaces for events. The Altered Ego exhibition was brilliant.

Visited here briefly yesterday with friends who live locally. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to properly explore and enjoy this beautiful Grade II listed mansion, as we were doing a whirlwind tour of Cardiff - plus they were preparing some of the rooms for various events happening later that day. But I would love to return and really explore the mansion and its grounds. Whilst visiting I saw they were holding a Tai Chi class in the garden - which (even in the rain) looked fabulous. I also got to see the wonderful little secondhand bookshop within the mansion, with a fabulous selection of books at great prices. Highly recommended.

Victorian house and gardens. The ground floor of the house and gardens are open to the public. (The first floor is only accessible as part of a tour.) Look out for the painted frieze in the Reading room - commission from the same artist as decorated Cardiff Castle/Castell Coch. The café is well worth a visit. There are various rooms for hire for e.g. weddings, birthdays with a choice of catering options. We hired the Drawing Room for a buffet afternoon tea for 50 - a beautiful space and the food was excellent and more than adequate! Well behaved dogs are allowed in the house, café and shop.
