Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Wales

The food/drink is the same as every other Costa...that's not my reason for a low rating. When we went in today (family of 4) we were confronted with sets of tables with only 2 chairs each (or 3 in places). There was a couple of tables for 4 but they were taken by others and...you know... the odd singleton sitting at a table for 4 by themselves!!? So, being a reasonable minded person, we pulled a square tiny table over to another square tiny table to make a table for 4. At which point we were reprimanded that (although it would be overlooked THIS time) we weren't to do that. It was the nearest possible table and was moved 2-3 feet and made no difference to the safety or gap where folk were needing to walk through. In fact there was a larger gap to walk through after we moved it. We put everything back exactly as it was before we left but to be honest we won't go there again...I prefer to share our pennies with people who have compassion and common sense! What family wants to sit at 2 separate tables and let's be honest spread out further in public than...

Staff were extremely rude. My partner sat down while I was queuing and a member of staff came over to him and said ‘ are you going to order a drink then? ‘ he pointed me out as being in the queue and she then shouted to her colleague ‘ these two have sat down before being at the front of the queue’. I politely asked if there was an issue with us sitting down to which the woman said ‘ if you’d calm down I’d explain to you’ , I then said that we were going to leave and as we walked out she shouted ‘ bye then’ and spoke loudly in front of a line of customers about how ‘rude ‘ I was for asking what the problem was. Will be taking my custom...

Went in on Sunday with my small dogs, they waited by the table when I went to the counter to order. Because the service was so slow one of my dogs wandered over to me, I was quickly and rudely told that dogs need to be on a lead. The dogs had a bowl of water on the floor and I was quickly moaned at because the dog had dribbled some water on the floor (dogs and water bowls what did they expect!). I offered to clean it up but was again spoken to rudely. Costa, you need to have a word with your Sunday staff and perhaps send them on some courses in people skills!! ] P.S. I didn’t complain when they bought over...
