Very disappointed in my visit around 30 mins ago ... queued to get in as expected and rightly so, however as there were so many people in the shop I waited until the person whoâd gone in before me had been served. I Picked up and paid for my welsh cakes - unfortunately there were so many people waiting for their take out food I had to ask for A man in a cycle helmet to step aside to let me exit... he just looked at me as if I had spoken a different language! He said âIâm waiting for foodâ to which I said âthis is the exit and I need to go out, there are still social distancing rules in placeâ .. I then had to ask his partner/wife to step aside immediately outside the exit door as she too was in the way and no one could exit without being in close proximity to either of these two people. I really do think you need to have someone limiting the amount of people in the shop, particularly as youâre offering take out food where congregating around your exit door is inevitable Fully understand the need to earn a living and as much as possible given the difficulties over the last three or four months but for the time being, serving customers in a safe way needs...
Read moreWhen l lived in Mumbles it was my local bakery. And favourite go-to for a traditional lunch or afternoon treat. When l got married l sadly had to move from the area, but we regularly came back to visit family. Always took back plenty of everything, to ensure l still had a taste of their bread and pies and cakes for a while afterwards!- thank goodness for freezers! Now visiting again after time abroad and Thank Goodness some things haven't changed. They are still there and same unpretentious look, with same family and staff and same High Quality food - bread, cakes, pies- sweet and savoury, meals, atmosphere and service. You can't beat quality, and integrity. Some places come and some places go, but Davies of Mumbless are still there, and still offering quality in every way. Sadly, after the divorce, I may not be able to afford to live there anymore, but l can still afford to go there to stock up on bread, cakes and pies from Davies of Mumbles to last me until my next visit, and enjoy a freshly cooked meal upstairs looking out to sea before or after my...
Read moreThe food here is absolutely wonderful, cannot fault it. However, what I witnessed today really altered my perspective on this lunch spot. As I was waiting to have my order taken, an older couple asked for a chicken sandwich, without the bread. The lady serving had little to no patience with them, and said âso a chicken salad thenâ. The older gentleman went to collect a flat white that had been called out, to which the woman replied ânot for you, yours is sit inâ. After this, the couple went to sit upstairs, the lady serving then proceeded to gossip what had just happened to another customer who was infront of me and then to another co worker who laughed. I was quite shocked by the lack of respect and this womanâs attitude especially in a customer facing role. It seemed she had little time and patience for customers. I wouldnât usually be one to comment, but I was really shocked at...
