We visited Mumbles for a few days and G&J was recommended to us by a friend in Swansea. It is pure class. The food, the wine and the service was exceptional. I would go so far as saying that this is the finest bar/ restaurant I have ever been it. The bar is on the top floor of the building and the views of the sea are stunning- even at night. They also have live music on Thursdays. A very special has to go to the staff. They were simply superb. I like my red wine from a fresh bottle as it doesn't taste so good if it's from the day before. Many places refuse this. Not the staff at G&J who were happy to open a new bottle for me- and after the first glass I decided to buy the bottle! I also like a bit of cheese with my wine. There was none on the menu but I asked anyway. Again, many places simply say 'no'- If it's not on the menu there is nothing they can do- even though you know the kitchen will have cheese! Again, this was not the case at the G&J - and the guy at the bar said he would ask the chef to see if he could make something for us. I only expected a little bit of cheese but what they produced was amazing. Three different types of cheese plus olives and fruit- and they only charged £6.50 for it. There was too much for myself and Helen but our friend from Swansea arrived and helped us finish it! Originally, we were only stopping for one drink as our friend was going to show us around the town but as we were having such a great time in such a beautiful place we stayed at G&J all evening- and that was also because of the staff. Whatever money they are on they deserve more! They were all a credit to the bar and the company itself. Hopefully we will be returning to Mumbles at the end of April and we will look forward to an evening or two in the G&J.

Nice views from the balcony and good decor, however that's all you are paying for. Tables weren't cleaned and we had to find someone ourselves to come and clean it. Menu was disgusting, it was sticky and full of food/drink marks. When we went to the bar to place our order, it took them a little while to see us, even though they were exceptionally quiet and there was a member of staff standing next to the coffee machine, who was starring at something on the counter like a zombie. We eventually ordered four meals and a few beers and two house salads. Quarter of our food arrived first, followed by another quarter shortly, before we got the rest. By the time we had all four meals on the table, first one was cold already. Food was so salty that it was burning our throats as it was going down and we couldn't finish half of it. We ordered two house salad for the table, one came with rockets, cucumber, tomato and the bowl was half empty, the other one that arrive afterwards had only big pieces of lettuce, cucumber and some tomato. We decided to cut our losses and we left. Certainly won't be visiting again, nor would I recommend anyone doing so.

This is without doubt my favourite bar for a drink and lunch on a sunny afternoon. Nothing beats it. We spent the afternoon here and many gins and a few Aspel ciders. We sat in the open air section overlooking the bay. What a view. So many gins can't possibly remember what they were all called but all looked amazing. We had a lunch, between four of us we had, steak and fries, sea bass with new potatoes, and a couple of burgers with fries. Everything was perfect, the steak was rare, juicy and delicious and the fries were well cooked all for £11.99. sea bass was good , burgers were great all meals were £11.99. the gin ranged in price from £8 - £16 but they gins upto £76 for a double. Amazing place. Service is great, staff are great food and drink is great. A perfect afternoon.

A fantastic location for a bar, perched atop a building overlooking the full panorama of Swansea Bay. Views are stunning. Eclectic furnishing and decor add to a very comfortable atmosphere. It was extremely busy during our visit early on a Saturday night. Dronks were very well presented in attractive glassware. Unfortunately the ambience and location come at a toe curling price. Large violet gin and lemonade and a lager came to £22. Worth popping in for one drink to enjoy the views, but unless you actually live in Mumbles you'll probably want to call in one of the other numerous bars nearby for the second and third. Note there are several flights of stairs to negotiate to reach the bar, but there is a lift on site. Accessible toilet on the same floor as the bar.

This is a lovely restaurant that we went to recently on holiday. The entrance is on a little side passageway that could be missed, then a stairway or lift takes you to the top floor for the restaurant. Beautifully decorated, we were half that there were some free tables on the balcony that overlooks the sea - great views. (The restaurant does not take reservations). The menu is very reasonable with a good variety of meals for 12.99. the chicken burger, beef burger and sea bass were all very nice. Unfortunately there is not a children's menu which would put me off going again, meant I had to share with my youngest son and only got half a meal!! It would be so easy to serve half portions for the children. The cocktails are delicious!

Took my daughter here for brunch. Fab view of Swansea Bay and the Pier. Sat on the covered roof terrace. Surprisingly warm even though a very cold day. We both had avo & poached eggs on toast: the herb gremolata, lime, fresh chillis and pea shoots were a delightful and unexpected variation on the norm and eggs poached perfectly. Like how the big pitchers of water W lemon are lined up and you can help yourself to as much as you want. Staff very attentive and friendly. The vibe of this place is very bohemian. Love the smell from the open fires. Apart from the plastic plants can’t fault the place.
