Been visiting here every July for a few years now when I'm in Cardiff for a course. Open late, and I was initially impressed but less so recently. Last year the sauce with my biryani had so much coconut it was almost inedible. So this year I ordered the special shashlik, which was expensive at £12.95. Meat was ok, but again let down by sauce which was yellow, watery and tasteless. But worst of all, I was charged £3.80 for 2 papadums and a few spoonfuls of chutney. When I questioned this I was told that the chutney tray costs £2.50. I pointed out that this might be a fair price for a table of 4, but not for just one person. Suggested that it might be fairer to do it as many other restaurants do, which is charge a bit more for the papadums and include the chutney at no extra cost. Waiter just grinned at me then went to confer with manager who couldn't understand why I wasn't happy. He recognised me and I reminded him that I had been coming for several years, but would be looking for a different restaurant next year. He obviously couldn't care less, so I paid the bill and left without...
Read moreTerrible experience trying to get a collection. I placed an order on their website for collection and after the order was placed, they told me that it would be an hour and a half, which was far too long of a wait, we were starving and jet lagged. I called up to cancel their order and was met with the most unprofessional and rude customer service. They said they were really busy which is why the wait times are so long and he eventually got bored and hung up on me.
My boyfriend had to walk to the restaurant to cancel the order because things were not getting through on the phone. My boyfriend said it was dead in the restaurant. How they've managed to survive as a business is a mystery to me.
Ended up going to Purple Poppadom, incredible curry and only a 20 minute wait despite having a full restaurant. Don't waste your time...
Read moreI was sadly fooled by these reviews. I ordered a takeaway and it was as bland as can get. Garlic and chilly chicken supposedly a “chef’s special” tasted like a curry from a tin. There were only bits of burnt garlic and small chillies. I was stunned at how bad the food was. The sauce was filled with onions, possibly to try and fill the container. The prawn puree, again, filled with onions and overly greasy with only a handful of very small prawns. The naan bread, apparently garlic, I would not be fooled to think it was. It was burnt and just tasted like dough. I would never order from this place again. Huge mistake and...
