Very bad behaviour from the reception on a Sunday evening. Me and my family drove from Bristol to Cardiff to their restaurant, the receptionist told me that they are fully booked. Ohh I think they do not need customers. To the owner, please let google know that there is a requirement to get booking to enter to your services👹 I left their place and found another lovely place and lovely people next to them. Owner… Service is a currency
I got a reply from the Owner: Dear Owner: I found your reply and thank you for your reply. I do not know what your staff's version to you. Anyhow I need to write few things: Customer is always king, and I do not want to be treated as King, and I do not want to poison your business as well. Firstly, one thing is sure, I will never visit your restaurant and never recommend to my friends, even if you give me 1B pounds because there is a saying ' The first impression is the best impression'. Secondly, your staff member did not try to ask me whether I can wait or not rather it was me who asked him about the waiting time. Then, he replied to me that I should wait for an hour, and he was not even interested to accommodate me either.
Thirdly, we are not third-class human beings. Your Mallu behaviour and attitude can be shown in Kerala not in the United Kingdom. I strongly disagree to your comment on my review.
Finally, put a giant flex that people need to show pre-booked tickets. Customers are gained not created and they are retained and regained. Here, you try to disregard me with your disgraceful comments.
A big Salute to the Owner...Hats off....
Good Morning Mum’s Daily!!!
I think you fully misunderstood from a view point of a walk-in Customer. I told in my earlier comment that I do not want to poison your brand image and If you
have taken my comments negatively, my apologies.
However, when I searched your website last night, neither your website nor google mentioned that your property needs a pre-booked appointment. I do not want to take pride but I can say that I have dined out multiple restaurant facilities both Indian and British and I never left the facility for such a situation here in the UK. I am really disappointed at your service point and your replies on my reviews. No genuine customer can agree with you. I think you and your staff are at same corner by not solving a problem rather escalating it to further levels.
This will be my last comment and I do not need to engage more please do not comment on my review anymore.
I am learning a lesson not to dine out in alien...
Read moreMums Daily is one of the newest South Indian/ Kerala restaurants in town, gives an amazing experience of the flavours from Kerala.
This restaurant is run by a couple Neethu & Johns from Kerala, who also runs a popular Youtube channel by the same name - the main reason why this place got much traction.
The experience here was amazing everytime I visited here. It's got an excellent ambiance, with a large dining space well decorated. The staffs are so welcoming and hospitable. The menu is huge with tons of options to choose from. They've got some signature dishes in their Menu, and some of them can boast generous portion sizes. The menu also looks amazing with illustrations, and has detailed descriptions of all the items on it.
They have serve me a welcome drink and a bite to get us started with, everytime we've visited there. The service is generally quick.
We've tried the following (in the order in which I liked them)
Chicken Kondattam (£10)
Chicken Biriyani (£13)
Chicken Al faham (£13)
Chicken & Veg Fried Rice (£5)
Curry: Paneer Butter Masala
Curry: Chicken Stew (£8)
Starter: Cauliflower Manchurian
Tea (classic & masala) (£2)
Coffee (~£2)
Theres such a huge difference in the prices of Biriyani & Fried Rice. The rationale behind them is that Biriyani has a larger portion size and is a chef’s special recipe. The portion sizes of the curries are comparable with the other restaurants of this kind around - not too generous, not less either. Some of the dishes might have lesser original flavours, probably to serve the taste palette of the locals. However, Given its still the early days, all these are subject to change. Nevertheless, it's worth trying given the prices and for the overall experience.
Location: Cowbridge Road, Canton. The bus stop is just a couple of minutes away.
Given its located right next to Mattancherry, another South Indian restaurant which has been around for long, I bet this area in Cowbridge Road, canton would be a good contender for being a South Indian gastronomical Hub😃

I was very excited to dine at Mum's Daily, as I'd heard excellent things about the authenticity of the food. Unfortunately, I was left a little disappointed.
I ordered the Pappadoms to start, the Kadai Chicken for my main (with extra spice) with a chicken tikka rice.
Three pappadoms came in a basket, each a third of the size of a traditional pappadom (little pricey given the portion) alongside 3 different dipping sauces. Each dipping sauce had the same smooth texture, with each of them lacking any real punch or uniqueness in flavour.
The Kadai Chicken looked very appetising and smelt great! But some pieces or chicken were slightly over cooked. I asked for it to be spicy and having tried my friend's who also ordered the same dish, we couldn't notice a significant difference. The tomatoe base was nice, but overall the dish lacked any real depth of flavour, which was disappointing, as I was expecting an explosion of flavour in my mouth given the reviews. It tasted a little spicy, tomatoey with a good crunch from the vegetables, but nothing more than that.
The chicken tikka rice was also disappointing. There was a tiny amount of uninspired chicken tikka hidden amongst the plain tasting rice granules. It tasted fine, but again was expecting far more given the restaurants claims of being authentic and especially given it cost £5.99!
The service was very poor throughout the evening. After our group decided what they would like to order, I called the waitress over to ask if we could order. We then waited a further 5 mins before a waiter came to take our order. Normally I wouldn't have a problem with this. However, the waiters had been standing at the back not doing anything, as we were the only customers in the restaurant at this point. But, when I asked to order, they started clearing a table where previous customers had dined, which should had been done whilst we were deciding. Also, whilst several people were still eating they started clearing empty dishes from those that had finished, which I was not impressed with. Particularly given the fact they had left previous tables full of empty dishes until customers had left elsewhere in the restaurant.
Extremely disappointing and I will not...
