Mackintosh Hotel — Restaurant in Wales

Visited a few weeks ago. Food was terrible. It was supposed to be grill day, they had no steaks! We ordered other items from the menu. My wife ordered lasagne which was slightly burnt, it was also supposed to come with garlic bread, when it did not, on enquiry we're told they didn't have any! They could have told us that at the time of ordering. Have since found out that the chef had left and the bar staff were doing the food. Won't be...

Good place to watch live sports especially if you're planning on having food with the game. Wide variety of games shown. There is a projector and a few screens. If more than one game is on, the staff will accommodate for that with different screens showing different games. Very student based area so the crowd is mixed between students and locals. Food is nice as it's general UK pub good. Good deals and prices....

The Macky, this place is the absolute pinnacle of student life in Cathays. Laura and her amazing team make anyone and everyone feel welcome in my second home. Make sure you get down for the quiz on Thursdays from September, Tom, Danny and James will be pouring some stupendous pints and offering some unbeatable chat. Couldn't recommend enough - quite simply a must if you're in the area....
