Well where to start. After purchasing a well over priced milkshake from Phillys cafe we sat at the table. My daughter also purchased an ice cream from the parlour next to it (ice cream parlour and staff are brilliant so this review does not reflect them). The vile owner then comes out and weirdly said I’m going to wipe the table down (not in a friendly way) and as he is doing so he then says abrubtly would you like me to get you a menu (again I must emphasise these things weren’t said in a nice way but more in a way of “your sat at my table so you must purchase something”) not realising we had purchased from his cafe in then said we have already brought stuff from here. He then left and went inside and came back out saying I didn’t mean anything by it. The funny thing was the damage was already done as he sprayed sanitiser over a 3 year old girls ice cream. I replied you knew exactly what you was doing and what you was implying and also stated food hygiene rules which he replied “it doesn’t matter as I was spraying sanitiser” to which I replied last time I checked it wasn’t a topping and said to him to learn some basic food hygiene rules. As we then went to leave I left a full ice cream tub covered in his sanitiser on the table which he then decided to pick up and throw at me which hit me in the shoulder and then splashed up a 12 year old girl while I was carrying my 3 year old daughter. He then scarpered into his shop and was confronted by a woman who was also with us asking why he threw the ice cream. She also stated he’s upset a girl with global development delay to which he replied “it’s hard to tell who has disabilities from you all”. We had then left absolutely disgusted. Looking at other reviews online it seems to be a common theme with this owner. The saundersfoot council have been made aware and so will food safety. Honestly there are way better and more friendly cafes and bars around saundersfoot with lovely owners so spend your money on them and not in this very very basic overpriced cafe which he claims is...
Read moreVisited for breakfast. You find a table then order at the bar, but this was not made clear when I sat down at a table, I asked if I could sit anywhere and was told yes. Apparently one of the bar staff told me across the noisy room after I'd sat down that you ordered at the bar, but I obviously didn't hear, so waited at table to be served, until a man who I assume to be the owner/manager, spoke to me loudly to ask me to order at the bar. When I went to the bar to order, I did say that this was not made clear to me when I came in and asked where I could sit, and the man said he had heard the bar staff (who was standing next to him!) tell me after I'd sat down (mm the other side of the room!) but that the bar staff probably needed to speak louder. I was made to feel very awkward, as if my hearing was the issue, which it is not! Tables cleaned properly between customers. Background music not too intrusive. Coffee nice and strong. Toast soggy from poached eggs not being drained before plating. Avocado very salty. On the expensive side for what was served. I personally...
Read moreWe had a look around at all the cafes in the area and this place seemed great, had a lot of seating meaning we could sit down. Went in to a friendly greeting and ordered a chicken mayo baguette and a jacket potato with tuna (plus two drinks) and advised they’d call my name when it was done. Sat down outside for over 20 minutes with no update so went inside to ask what was happening to which they advised they had forgotten about the food. About 5 minutes after, it came out but had seen better days, my baguette bread was stale and had hardly any fillings meaning it wasn’t worth eating and definitely wasn’t worth the wait. Wouldn’t advise anyone to eat there, poor...
