Salkaara — Restaurant in Wales

This was our first visit to the Resturant and we had called in earlier to confirm the table. Upon arrival, we were greeted with big smiles and were taken to our table. We were made to feel very welcome all through and the service through the evening was fantastic. The food was very good and tasted super authentic. The Tharavu (duck) main course was cooked to perfection and tasted perfectly spicy for our liking. Among the many things we ordered that evening, Zafrani pulav was another dish that stood out and had a fine touch - it went very well with the veg and non-veg sides we ordered. The biriyani was alright - nothing special but wouldn't fault it either. We turned up at 9.00pm on a Thursday and were told they would be closing at 10.30pm so we would have to leave then. Poppadoms were sparse broken bits with some strange chutneys in very small dishes certainly not enough for 4 people Naan breads were more like flatbread but tasted ok , rice was of a good standard , curry tasted ok but looked like something out of a tin Asked if we could have a coffee and we’re told they only do instant powdered coffee and the waiter said he wouldn’t recommend it , surely a restaurant should have a coffee machine The service was adequate but not particularly friendly and we felt that the staff couldn’t wait for us to leave even tapping on their watches as a hint, maybe we went on an off day as all the other reviews seem to be good but not sure I...

This Indian restaurant takes all the boxes. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly approachable and bend over backwards to ensure your overall meal experience is 2nd to none. The quality of food is extremely high and always fresh with lovely dips for your poppadoms and meals that are always a little bit different from the normal Indian restaurant malarkey. This is the third time my wife and I have been to this restaurant and this occasion was for my birthday with a large group of friends. We had a lovely meal and all of my attendees agreed that the restaurant was excellent. And all of my friends are just as fussy as myself and my Long suffering wife.
