Steak By Night — Restaurant in Wales

We use this restaurant on a regular basis and have never had a problem like this before. Me and my heavily pregnant wife called in on our way through Swansea as we usually do we also normally bring our friends and family here with us for food but on this occasion 26/07/24i normally order a mixed grill and double up so me and my wife share the plate as she has had a gastric operation and can no longer eat a full meal anyway , we have never had a problem and the staff are normally happy to help with her dietary requirements as this normally costs £30 without the drinks and extras I normally have, but on this occasion the staff where unhelpful and made us feel like we had to explain why she has these dietary requirements having to explain she is not able to eat a full meal and she is also 7 months pregnant, we had already ordered drinks which we then finished while the service staff constantly stared at us until we had enough and paid for the drinks and left. The service manager didn’t even come over and give us a reason for refusing our request (very rude). Sorry to our usual servers we have never had a problem with but the staff that we’re serving on the early evening of 26/07/24 you need to go on a customer service course of some kind as your service on this evening was terrible , tarnished our opinion of this establishment as regular customers we feel...

I've been here twice this year. This place used to be really good. And decent value for money (5 plus years ago) Now I find it over priced and the food and service isn't that great. Each time I ordered 10oz steak doubled up (approx £30). When you factor in drinks and starters on top your meal it's closer to £40. I don't mind this kind of price tag... if the food is good, but each time it was below par. The first time I ordered I didn't realise you have to request your sirloin on a hot stone for it to be over an inch thick. Instead what appeared to be served was a measly piece of gristle. The next time I did request the hot plate, and asked for rare. The steak came but it had no sear. So all you had was this ridiculously chewy steak. It wasn't even sizzling on the hot plate. I don't think I'll be in a rush to return. That being said; they did have a special offer on that was x2 meals for £15. (This was on a Friday). Absolute worst rack of ribs I've EVER encountered from any food place. I had a late night craving for some ribs and decided to trust the reviews on this place. What an UTTER mistake. £20 for the smallest, and most disappointing rack of ribs and microwaved (but STILL COLD) chips. I genuinely could have bought ribs from a supermarket for a fiver and had a better experience. Maybe it's my fault for having a craving so late at night and not doing more research before placing an order or maybe it just wasn't my lucky day. Maybe a rack of ribs is supposed to be more than £20 so it's my fault for trusting it! Highly unlikely seeing as it's definitely similar in price at other establishments. Anyway, it's a personal experience and hopefully not everything from this establishment is like this. I hope everyone has a better experience with their food than I've had. I've just never been so...
