I came here for a work trip. I like to book 4 star hotels when I am going for a work trip to give me that luxury feel but also ensure that I am in a good and safe environment to complete any remote work.
Upon arrival, I did not really get a warm welcome instead, the receptionist focussed more on my booking number then telling me about the amenities such as what time checkout is and what time breakfast starts and ends. I had to ask these questions myself.
Then, upon arrival to my room, I noticed that there were pictures of humans in frames. This can be quite scary, especially at night when sleeping. I am happy with pictures being in the room but, I expected more relaxation pictures like pictures of nature. I had to take the picture down and put it in the wardrobe so I could get a good night sleep. I had obviously put it back on the wall upon checkout.
The bed was comfortable however, the pillows were really flat and I had to pile up at least four pillows to ensure that my head was supported in order to sleep comfortably.
The coffee and tea selection was basic and bare minimum in the room. I have been to four-star hotels where they have coffee machines with pods in the room as well as a range of biscuits and tea selections.
The TV was bare minimum in relation to channels. You could watch general TV or could access YouTube sports or ITV player, in other four-star hotels you can log into your Netflix and BBC iPlayer and even connect your own Amazon fire stick to ensure you’re able to access a range of programs.
The only good thing about my room was that it was clean and spacious and had a good desk and sitting space to work from.
The ladies at the breakfast station were very hospitable and regularly checked in on me with a smile as well as asked if I needed any extras however, the English breakfast selection was very bland and I had to make use of the salt and pepper shakers which I have never done before in any other hotel that has been of four star. I observe a vegetarian diet and it was really disappointing to see that all the tongs to pick up items of English breakfast with all the same colour and in the same pots. I am used to seeing green tongs for non-meat items and it made me really conscious and anxious about what I was selecting and whether cross contamination was occurring with food items.
I am really disappointed as the views were beautiful and the location of the hotel was ideal however, the amenities really let down the overall experience.
I would not stay here again and this is rare for me to say, especially for a...
Read moreWe are currently staying at the Delta Marriott Swansea over the bank holiday weekend, booking directly as Bonvoy members. We specifically needed interconnecting rooms and were assisted by a very polite reservations agent who guided us through the process. The booking was confirmed, including breakfast, and we appreciated the pre-arrival emails in the lead-up to our stay.||First Impressions & Arrival:|Upon arrival, we were surprised (and disappointed) to find the entire hotel covered in scaffolding—something that was never mentioned on the website or by any of the staff I spoke to beforehand. It took away from what should have been a nice first impression, especially given the marina views we had paid for, which were largely obscured.||We were also misinformed about EV charging options. I called ahead and was told there was a charger just across the road, but it was out of service when we arrived, and the next closest chargers (at Tesco) were also not working. A hotel of this standard should really offer a functioning EV charging point on-site.||Check-In & Rooms:|Check-in was underwhelming. The gentleman with glasses who checked us in wasn’t particularly welcoming and actually forgot to check us into the second room. This was rectified after I pointed it out, but it didn’t inspire confidence.||Our rooms were spacious, but I’d only rate them about 6 out of 10. While we were told they were “upgraded,” they felt tired—bathrooms need refurbishment, and the toilets didn’t flush properly. Storage was lacking too—just hanging space and no cupboard or drawers, so we had to live out of our suitcases. Given the price, this was disappointing.||Service & Atmosphere:|The room cleaning staff we encountered were not particularly friendly; no greetings or smiles, which stood in contrast to the very kind and attentive staff at breakfast. Their warmth and professionalism, as well as the polite staff I spoke with during the booking process, were definite highlights of the stay.||Breakfast:|Breakfast was a strong point. The food was fresh, with a good variety. The croissants were especially lovely, and the restaurant staff were consistently friendly and helpful.||Overall Verdict:|This hotel is okay, but nothing special. It lacks the “wow” factor. The location is convenient, and the breakfast staff do shine, but other aspects—particularly the lack of transparency about the scaffolding, the poor check-in experience, dated rooms, and lack of EV charging—undermine the experience.||Would I return?...

And we have booked 2 double rooms , 3 of us , 2 nights
Very disappointed experience.
We travel a lot around the world and within the Uk, First time using Marriott hotel. Won’t be returning as below.
a few hairs found near or in bath tub on arrival. Didn’t make a scene as it won’t kill. We wiped it.
our room’s window (Room 325) can be opened but my uncle’s room (Room 327) ‘s window can’t be opened, the handle is gone and taped. No air circulation/ ventilation in the room. Which I think it would be nice to inform use before checking in.
accusing my uncle smoked in the room while he put ‘ finished ‘ cigarette buds in a box and carry it around or in bins instead of throwing it just on the floor / in public. The cleaner shouted at him by smoking in the room without asking and reported to the front desk on check out. Again my uncle was accusing by the front desk staff for ‘ smoking ‘ in the room. The room is sealed with a broken unopened window and the smell comes from his cigarette buds which he finished in the car already. If he smokes in the room it would have been a much stronger smell and the smoke will go to the corridors and set the alarm off I am sure if they works as smoke sensor. ( as you can’t open the window)
check out is 12pm. We were still in the room about to leave. Housekeeper just opened our room door without knocking. I know it’s 12 but it would be nice to see if anyone is still in.
The best part is restaurant staff are all very nice and friendly.
bad communication, on arrival front desk said it’s £13 per breakfast, my room is including breakfast ( 2 of us) and the other room needs to pay for breakfast. Which is my uncle ‘s room. Fair enough as we booked the 2 rooms at different dates.
First morning 3 of us were having breakfast, they said 2 was included and 1 needed to pay. Ok cool ~ The second morning it was only me having breakfast in the restaurant, I finished one plate and brought one plate up to the room as I was in a hurry to check out. I was told to pay for 2 breakfast. While the first morning, 2 breakfast was included. We stayed in the same room and it’s very weird one night was included 2 breakfasts ( if it’s not you would of charged me ) and one night without. I just paid for what the front desk told me to as I don’t want to ruin our trip in wales and my uncle was already very upset by what said before.
Won’t recommend anyone to stay there and won’t be returning...
