Edit Nov 2024- I can only assume the staff read my initial review & remembered the customer who sent her food back (very politely & apologetically I might add) because this afternoon I came in with my daughter to order a meal to share. I had a very pleasant interaction with Marie when ordering. When my food was ready the server came up to the table from behind me & tossed my plate down in front of me without so much as a heads up, she did not even look at me or give me a chance to move anything on the table to make space, She just threw my meal down & disappeared. In case you do happen to read this review (lady with the very high, slicked back bun who has worked there for yonks) I want you to know I was having a TERRIBLE day, I was doing everything in my power to keep it together for my little girl. But your behavior absolutely finished me off. If my daughter hadn't been hungry I was ready to grab my things and just walk straight out. I had to stop myself daughter seeing me start to cry. I saw you serve other tables politely & with respect so I'm not chalking this up to just being busy / stressed. I felt very unwelcome. You have no idea what someone is going through & in your line of work it's important to keep that in mind. I don't know how much of this encounter Marie saw or heard about but id like to thank you so much. Your act of kindness when I was desperately trying to hold it together for my baby was hugely appreciated. Thank you ever so much! What a kind, beautiful person you are.
I've left my original review below.
Most of the staff are always super friendly & helpful. Coffee is always lovely. I've visited quite a few times but this most recent visit I had to send my food back & ask for a refund. They do seem to be understaffed as every visit there are always a lot of tables that haven't been...

During two separate visits to this establishment—first for lunch with my partner and later for breakfast after few days with kids—my experience was marred by consistently poor service from the staff member at the front desk/till.
First Visit (Lunch): The attendant displayed a dismissive and unwelcoming attitude, giving the impression that our presence was an inconvenience. Despite attributing her behavior to potential fatigue during peak hours, her lack of engagement (no eye contact, minimal interaction) made the ordering process unpleasant.
Second Visit (Breakfast): The same individual exhibited even more pronounced rudeness—no greeting, visible disinterest, and a demeanor suggesting reluctance to assist. When inquiring about breakfast, her response ("I’m still cooking; you’ll have to wait") was delivered with such indifference that it overshadowed the reasonable request for patience.
While delays are understandable, the consistent lack of basic courtesy, professionalism, and effort to engage with customers is unacceptable. A smile, eye contact, or a simple "good morning" would have significantly improved the interaction.
I hope this feedback prompts reflection on staff training and customer service standards, as such attitudes can deter...
Read moreTesco’s cafe’s a nice, airy space. It’s on the first floor and accessible by a set of stairs or a lift. It’s much quieter than the ground-floor Costa Coffee is in the mornings (I’m assuming because it’s out of the way). It’s also handy for the Community Room in Tesco (great to see this is open again).
The customer service is great - Marie was so helpful when my toddler got awkwardly stuck in their toddler seat (thank you!).
The tea cakes we had were really nice so I’d happily call...
