This is a Wetherspoons pub “St.Matthews Hall” that I had been putting off visiting due to the fact it is in Walsall, however I was very surprised by Walsall and even more so by this Wetherspoons. Me and the wife only popped in for breakfast and a beer whilst on route to another Wetherspoons. I found the outside of the pub to look impressive, the building looks very old and very grand, once inside the pubI found the pub to be warm (It was a cold morning outside) and it also felt inviting, the staff was attentive and service at the bar was quick, as was the delivery of the breakfast I ordered, the food itself did not disappoint. I had the grilled chicken, brie and smoky chilli jam burger and my partner had the ultimate burger. It wasn't busy at all but our meals seemed to have taken a long time to arrive at our table. Both our burgers were stone cold but we were so hungry we ate them anyway . The pub was near enough empty and we didn't even get a check back. Today my partner has an upset stomach. You need to re-train the kitchen staff and tell your front of house staff to check back on ALL your guests not just your regilars. It's absolutely disgusting and a joke that the FOH staff ONLY look after regulars. Shame that the imperial closed down because that was 10x better than St...
