Fabulous, cosy French Bistro. The menu is not huge but we wanted every dish. The chef clearly knows what s/he is doing with exceptional flavour combinations. We had cod on potato rosti and aubergine tarte tatin for the main course. Both were simply delicious. The cod was succulent and tender with perfectly crisped skin. The rosti and sauce on the side were packed with flavour, such as fennel seeds. The tarte was perfectly sticky, with the pastry perfectly cooked. Again, the flavour combinations were delicious. For dessert, we had French cheeses (including an extraordinary gooey brie) and creme brulé (one of the best I have had). The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The best bistros I have been to in France make you think that the cooking is effortless. (It isn't, just the sign of really good, traditional cooking). This is what I felt at this restaurant - a restaurant that is about as authentic French as you will find outside France. Highly...
Read moreWhat an exceptional restaurant. I can't believe I've only just discovered it. I was recommended to come here by the nail salon owners opposite at KC Nails who told me each night Eleven is always busy and they've heard the food is brilliant. I can confirm the food is divine, the service wonderful & the ambiance lovely - cosy, casual dining room vibes with a gorgeous offering of French cuisine and some fusion dishes. The venison was delicious, as were the salt baked beetroot & goats cheese starter and the duck, oh and the cheese soufflé! You'd be catered for amazingly as either a vegetarian or meat eater. I came with my family including one fussy parent & a two year old and not one of our party of 5 had anything but praise for the quality of the ingredients, brilliance of the chef & warmth and attention to detail of Jean-Christophe. What a beautiful...
Read moreFood quality and the price both average and reasonable. Ordered a starter and most expensive main course on the menu. Soup was very average, the steak dish came with long beans, flavored cooked onion , chips. With some cream sauce on the side. Long bean was tasteless. The onion is the only thing I'd loved most in the dish (sweet and tasty) is also the only thing which matches the steak , unfortunately portion too tiny. chips were very average, steak quality was just ok. Cream Sauce just didn't have much taste either. Both dishes weren't tasty enough for me to finish off whole plate full. Pretty little restaurant, nice atmosphere. Service were nothing more than just putting food on table. Waiter were very shaky while bringing out dishes. Overall experience 5/10 ...
