We are big fans of the Peach Pubs group having previously eaten a few times at both The Town House and The One Elm, often on special occasions, as was this one. We did feel that The Star and Garter did not quite match up to their sister pubs in terms of the personal service. Although we had said it was a big birthday celebration, with our children gathering from across the country, there was no acknowledgement of that at all, even when cards and gifts were exchanged. Perhaps this was just because it was a busy Saturday, which also meant that food came a little slowly (even allowing for the fresh cooking). Having said that, the menu was interesting and varied, including options for the vegan guest, and the food chosen was very tasty and much enjoyed by all 6 of us. There was a real buzz about the place creating a good atmosphere and the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

Popped in on a Thursday night , staff was running round and could not show me the great customer experience I deserve. Was not greeted at the door not a farewell. The bar was absolutely disgusting - puddles of beer and old stains from previous customers - one bar maid interacted with me briefly as I was scratching my scratch cards and asked if I won - then continued running round understaffed - the only memory I have now of this establishment is a very poor experience an experience I would never want A customer to have to go through. My first impression being a peach pub like the almanack in kenilworth was far too high and £5.20 ish for a pint of flat dull lifeless premium latger is very disappointing too- to be fare me being upset is an understatement

Service was bad - the waiter took our order and 20 minutes later came over to tell us he had forgotten to put it through so could we tell him again - ok not end of the world but then when we repeated it he managed to get it wrong (wrote it down neither time!) When food did come it was average at best - and the place is expensive! £10 for a gin and tonic and mains on average £16 which would be above average in London. There wasn't a manager on shift so I gave feedback to the waitress who said she was in charge but she didn't seem too bothered. After going to La Coppela last night which was amazing and cheaper, I would recommend you to avoid this place and try and reserve a table there!!

We went for a Sunday lunch often eat out so have had lots of comparisons, the food was generally very good we had the scotch egg and makeral from the specials board as starters so not sure if they are always available my scotch egg was delicious would highly recommend really tasty a nice little kick of spice and the lovely runny egg was just as it should be ,we both had the trio if meats for main course also from the specials board the meat was well cooked we like our beef rare so it was slightly pink but very nice and tender there was also a slice of pork and gammon . The yorkshire puddings were very nice I think they were cooked in duck fat as were the roast potatoes. The one negative point I would like to make and I know they are not the only ones that do it but charging and extra 5.50 for a potion of cauliflower cheese is ridiculous if you wanted stuffing I think I'm right in saying it was 3.50 extra those things should come as part of the roast and not as an extra it's just money grabbing in my opinion . We also had a cheese board to share 13 pounds for it Said 5 different cheeses with some biscuits very nice the cheese was from Aubrey Allen's but the amount you got was so small there were I think I'm right in saying there were 8 biscuits 5 slithered of apple in my opinion grapes would be better as the edge of the apple was going brown and portion of chutney I can't fault the quality of the food but there are things that could be improved as I've...

Our party of 3 booked a table on 23/03/25 for a Sunday lunch booking the table on line I advised one of the group had a nut allergy 2 of us ordered lamb shanks and 1 roast pork with a side of cauliflower cheese the waitress took the order and asked if any one had any allergies I advised her that my friend had a nut allergy and that I had also recorded it on the online booking When the meals arrived we were all delighted to see our plates we shared the cauliflower cheese and was about to eat when a very nervous waitress came and asked if any one had a nut allergy as there were nuts on the cauliflower cheese All 3 meals were taken away and apologise given unfortunately there were no replacement lamb shanks left which was very disappointing I had beef and my friend had Cornish shepherds pie with a massive pile of greens and my friend was able to have the pork she originally ordered we also had a portion of cauliflower cheese, Unfortunately the replacement meals were not good and I ended up taking them home for my dog we didn’t have to pay for our mains due to the allergy mix up it was a nice jester but unfortunately we did not enjoy are experience and it could of been very detrimental to my friends health We did enjoy Harvey he was a ray of sunshine very friendly and professional he made...

I NEVER go out to eat Sunday because I’m good at making my own thank you and no pub can match a home cooked roast and all the trimmings! Well. I’m here to report that the amazing Star and Garter has proved me wrong. Service was excellent, the floor staff happy and laughing, clearly great team dynamics fostered my a good manager. Service was prompt, the specials advised and orders placed. Food arrived promptly. Duck starter was excellent. But it’s the roast dinners that take centre stage. A very generous portion size of the meat of your choice. The roasties were perfect. I’d like to mention is dispatches the vegetables though Lovely buttered cabbage and leeks perfectly cooked with just the right amount of bite, roasted root vegetables and the cauliflower cheese was to die for. The icing on the cake was that exactly at the point I’d popped the last piece of potato and Yorkshire pudding into my mouth, slightly disappointed that I still had plenty of meat in my plate, that a waitress appeared at my side asking if I’d like more potatoes and another Yorkshire pud, the size and lightness I’ve not seen before. I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. A truly wonderful experience so thank you to all the team at the Star and Garter in Leamington 👏👏👏👏 I’ve never been so happy to be...
