Villa Capri Ristorante Italiano & Cocktail Lounge — Restaurant in Warwick

Yesterday was my birthday and I had booked in advance to have a chance of celebrating this date with my favourite people in my favourite restaurant, well , was Iucky because I had everything but a great time . I had booked a table for 4 people at 6:30 and I brought my 4 months old baby to celebrate the day with me . This was apparently an issue that the restaurant was facing and I had to explain that we were 4 people at the table and the baby was only with us as she is still not able to get any food . The way that they accommodated the situation was poorly where I even heard the employee saying “ next time make us aware about the baby because it is not fair for the other customers “ with that being said , I would understand if this baby was creating any trouble or discomfort to anyone, but my baby was only in the stroller playing with some toys and at some point we carried the baby . My food , never came so quickly , in less than an hour we were in and out !we barely had a chance of having a conversation at the table and I felt they were rushing us to get us out of that place . I have been to many other restaurants with my baby and this was the first time that I have seen this type of behaviour against a baby. This type of unfair discrimination against families does not look well at places like this restaurant where you can see many families enjoying a pleasant meal. The food is loosing their standards . The employees don’t make you feel welcome and overall was a night ruined because of people don’t know how to respect other people. My wife and I had lunch there to celebrate 12 years of marriage! Beautiful place and great friendly service. The starter was lovely and the cocktails to die for and we waxed lyrical about how we finally found somewhere that offers great service and food! Unfortunately we spoke too soon! We ordered for the mains, the Lobster Thermidor with mixed veg and Veal with Fried Zucchini. The Lobster was supposed to be finished with a Béchamel Sauce but when it came it was very dry and the sauce was more like cheese. I didn't like it so my wife and I swapped! The Zucchini was soggy and the mixed veg supposedly sautéed with garlic (not the case) was tasteless. We discussed the sides with the waiter and manager and they were removed from the bill. Sadly that evening my wife took ill and vomitted several times and went to bed to recover. (this was her only meal of the day). My wife called the restaurant next day and advised them what happened and the manager (who on the day had the bedside manner of a grave digger) dismissed her claims said they had no issues with the temperature of the fridges and of the food cooked throughout the day and no other reported cases of food poisoning that day. He offered nothing else but and apology and said that he hoped to see us again to which my wife replied NO we would not be coming back. We are very disappointed that an establishment of this obvious high standing and quality of service in the end did not extend that service and higher standard dismissing a very serious claim of food poisoning. I cannot reccomend Villa Capri enough! We had a 70th birthday celebration here with 7 adults, one 3 year old and one 2 month old. We were unsure what the policy on children was and we found out that they are fine before 6pm which is very agreeable, so we made a reservation for 3pm a few weeks prior and had use of the table for 3 hours. The service was so good, friendly, helpful and efficient. We were so impressed by the food, so many choices in the menu and we all loved our starters, mains and selection of desserts. I had the scallop starter and salmon pasta and it was delicious. They have an excellent cocktail selection too. The ambiance and music was very relaxing and the white tablecloths add a touch of class to the dining experience. It was such a special meal for us all and we were so pleased we booked Villa Capri for our celebration. They carried out the cake we brought for us when it was time to sing Happy birthday and even gave us plates, but we opted to eat their delicious desserts instead - the chocolate mousse and tiramisu were divine! They needed the table back at 6 and we were asked to move to a very nice seating area to finish our drinks in a very respectful way. 10/10 from start to finish, if you are celebrating a birthday with a group I highly reccomend this fine establishment and their exemplary service 😊 Thank you for a...
