A Gastronomic Delight at Wofon Restaurant: Exquisite Cuisine and Exceptional Service
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Wofon Restaurant, and I am delighted to share my extraordinary experience. From the exceptional flavors of the cuisine to the impeccable service, Wofon truly excels in providing a remarkable dining experience that leaves a lasting impression.
At Wofon, the culinary journey is a true feast for the senses. The menu offers a wide array of tantalizing dishes, but two standout options, in particular, captured my taste buds: the succulent Sweet and Sour Pork and the flavorful Shredded Pork Noodles.
The Sweet and Sour Pork, or "Gu Lou Yok" as it is popularly known, was a masterpiece of culinary delight. The crispy yet tender pork, coated in a mouthwatering sweet and tangy sauce, created an explosion of flavors that danced on my palate. The balance of textures, with the pork's exterior crunchiness and its juicy interior, was a testament to the chef's expertise.
Another culinary gem at Wofon is the Shredded Pork Noodles. The delicate strands of noodles perfectly complemented the savory shredded pork, creating a harmonious blend of taste and texture. The dish was beautifully seasoned, highlighting the natural flavors of the ingredients. Each bite was a delightful interplay of savory goodness and satisfying noodle texture.
In addition to the exceptional cuisine, the service at Wofon Restaurant was truly commendable. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality. The attentive staff ensured that every need was met promptly and with a smile. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to offer personalized recommendations enhanced my dining experience.
The waitstaff at Wofon exhibited professionalism and attention to detail, making me feel valued as a guest. They went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Their efficient service and friendly demeanor added an extra layer of enjoyment to the overall experience.
I highly recommend Wofon Restaurant to all food enthusiasts seeking a remarkable dining experience. The dedication of the chefs and the attentive service provided by the staff create an atmosphere of excellence that sets Wofon apart. Whether you're craving the iconic Gu Lou Yok or the satisfying Shredded Pork Noodles, Wofon is sure to exceed your...
Read moreI have been to this place many, many times, since the first opening week back in 2012, maybe 2013.
This is a "budget" version of wagamama, with a simpler décor, smaller menu and lower prices. However..... I would argue the food tastes just as good, if not better, and at the cost of a smaller menu, I'll take this place any day. As long as the food is tasty and the prices are good, I'll be back here again and again.
I would estimate I've been here to eat over 50 times, and not a single time has the food dropped in quality.
The prices, whilst they have understandably gone up, are extremely good value for the quality and portion size you receive.
The average cost for two people is £30, I would say. This includes starter, main and a beer each.
I recommend two starters, number 9 and 12. Best of all I've tried which is all apart from the vegetable ones.
The mixing noodles are my personal favourite, which is where you can mix in as much broth as you want to your noodles and sauce.
Again, it's a simplified menu with not many options, but I'm easy to please once I know what I like.
The duck and szechuan sauce combo is my personal favourite for a main course. The heat is fairly mild to medium and the sauce is much more focused on flavour over spice.
If you were to walk past, to the naked eye it seems like a fairly simple and insignificant little restaurant, but take a seat and you will see the food bursts with flavour and in my opinion, it's humble. It knows what it is and does it well.
5/5 place for service,...
Read moreVery high quality dishes despite the busy environment. Waited for more than 30mins, but it's totally understandable since it's lunar new year, and I tell you it's totally worth the wait!
We ordered Tom Yum Soup noodles with roast duck. The soup brought me back to Thailand at once, so flavorful, right amount of spiciness and sourness, exactly the same as what I had in Thai. Lots of veg in there as well, all cooked perfectly!
Another dish was stir fried noodles with Wonfon special toppings (highly recommend!). There's prawns, char siu (roast pork), chicken and beef (super tender), very generous amount, so good!!! The noodles were filled with wok-hei, very aromatic.
I will really revisit this city just for this...
