Last visit to Jamaica Blue Watford. We were there at 4.40 standing in the queue when a staff member asked us if we are getting a take away, she looking quite irritated to see us. Me and my little son were going to have a quick snack and drink. We were told âsorry you canât sit, we are closedâ when they clearly had just decided that they couldnât be bothered to serve anyone. This was after we were standing in the queue and reached the front. She talked to the person at the till in front of us saying we are closed right? Mind you, there was no sign of them closing otherwise we wouldnât have bothered wasting our time.
I was confused and politely said we will be quick and I thought you closed at 5, they said sorry we decide sometimes to close early.
Is this the way to treat someone, a customer!? PATHETIC! If you canât be bothered to work, just close the shop or atleast put a sign outside IF you decide to close early on a whim. I was looking forward to sitting with my son for ten minutes and he wanted to have a slice of cake. We were so disappointed.
I will never visit them again on principle- they donât deserve my hard earned money and custom. I will make sure I tell my friends about my experience. Disgraceful service and staff. They should be ashamed, behaving like this and turning people who have reached the end of the queue in the rude manner they did. Absolutely pathetic.
Ps I have been there before and the service and food hasnât been great. Very expensive for what it is also. If it wasnât for my hungry son I probably wouldnât have gone...
Read moreI regularly come to Jamaica Blue, and am always met with smiles from the staff and a great and joyful atmosphere. I started coming in during exam season, and used to stay until closing time. I was offered a latte on the house once, which I greatly appreciated as it showed me the warmth of the staff. I am highly grateful towards Jamaica Blue, as they were always kind and never said I was staying for too long or that I only bought one thing, and I found this incredibly sincere. Whenever I visit Atria, I always come to Jamaica Blue, and have come with family who have all commented on the amazing atmosphere and exquisite artwork on the walls. During the lunch hour, it gets incredibly busy, which is just proof of the great reputation of this cafe. There is an immense range of dishes on the menu, which is suitable for all. I always drink either a latte or a milkshake, both of which I have never experienced any issues with. I thoroughly enjoy the latte, which I find is always perfectly made. The milkshake is of a generous size, and not too sweet. Overall, I have to say I love Jamaica Blue, due to their incredibly friendly environment and the excellent range of dishes...
Read moreWell, a new coffee shop experience and it was not too shabby...
We were smart to hit up this place in the middle of Atria (AKA Into AKA Harlequin) before braving the shops with Beloved. (Well, one would hit the shops while the other will catch up on audiobook). The dark space somehow manages to still be nice and welcoming, making it the perfect escape from the shopping madness.
Menu looked quite promising and the selection of pastries on display looked fresh and offered good choice.
The service was excellent - maybe it's because we went at an early morning time and the baristas hadn't been hit with the caffeine rush yet. Our order was taken quickly, and the food was out in just a few minutes. Can't go wrong with fast and efficient service, right?
The coffee was surprisingly good, but let's be real, coffee when avoiding the shops, should always be good. The real test was the food, and it passed with flying colors in the presentation and taste department. However, for the price, you expected a little more generosity - throwing in another pita with your ÂŁ9 eggs isn't too much to ask, right? After all, a happy customer is a...
