Coffee#1 Witney — Restaurant in West Oxfordshire

Have been coming to Coffee#1 in Witney since they opened. It was lovely to start off, great atmosphere friendly staff and lovely coffee and food. Unfortunately over the past month or so things have deteriorated drastically. They have signs up regularly saying they are having problems with supply's and the selection of cakes are very limited and on occasion they have no savoury food at all. Now they are using paper cups instead of crockery and trying to advertise pots of loose leaf tea for £2.85 and actually giving you a paper cup of tea with a tea bag for the same price, extortionate and I think is not legal to advertise one thing and sell another. Now they are saying no hot food and no cash sales, and the final straw was I went in on Saturday lunch time surprised to see actual cups on the table, my joy was short lived as they stopped using proper cups at around 12.30 and were telling people that the lovely cakes on display could not be sold as they were frozen. What on earth is going on a lovely place has systematically been ruined over approx a month or so. Obviously they are having staffing issues and they must not have a Manager at all from what I can see. The 2 stars I have given are for the 2 staff working they were running around and extremely stressed. Message to the owners No service is better than bad service, you are ruining your reputation. Nice place and liked the decor and layout as much more space than other places. I'm afraid it was let down by a few things though like no option to have a croissant warmed up which meant it was so dry and crusty it just flaked all over my plate and I couldn't eat a pile of crumbs. Then I ordered a caramel latte and got served a coffee that was basically warm milk with bits of undissolved coffee floating at the top and then half of it was spilt on the tray as she brought it across to me and even though it was noticed it wasn't rectified at all until I took it back to the counter to complain. Apparently she was training?... They replaced it and the new one was delicious though. Also no loo roll in the toilets and I didn't want to have to go and ask for some after all the above had happened. Shame that a few things made me not want to go back though as I'm sure they could make sure these don't...

Honestly such a lovely cafe. The design and layout of the cafe is very thought out and spacious with beautiful paintings and quotes along the walls. The food and drinks were excellent too with many things to choose from, lots of creative drink ideas and delicious looking pasty treats. But the staff are honestly what ties the place together, they were so kind and friendly to me and my friends, even when there was mix up with one order they immediately changed it to the correct order with no extra charge or fuss.
