Beekeepers — Restaurant in West Oxfordshire

I don't believe this place really deserves 2 stars. I come in here quite a bit now that they have changed from vaults to The Beekeepers and it is quite a nice establishment with so much to offer. Great outdoor area and nice layout in general. The reason I have chosen to give this place only 2 stars is due to what seems to be the unfortunate structure of the staff and the team itself. Not to say they are bad at what they do, but collectively it seems they are unsure about different things, there has been products they have told me is off the menu but then arrives on the plate etc. Maybe not enough communication between the kitchen and front of house etc. Maybe some pre and post shift briefs to get the tema all on the same page before shift could help. Now I know it's not always easy to run a kitchen as I am a Kitchen Manager myself. But I do feel like there's a lack of knowledge and structure in the kitchen. Obviously due to it being a newly refurbished kitchen and new menu it may be difficult to train staff up quickly enough to cope with the demand. Maybe they should have had a little more time to get trained up and prepare. The first time I was here the food was really good considering the value but that was the only time I've been impressed. There is so much potential with what they have available and I'd hate to see quality and standards decrease in such a short time frame. I almost want to jump in the kitchen myself and give them a hand some days. Maybe that's what they need, someone who really knows how to direct and communicate throughout service.

I personally believe this establishment can easily earn 4 or 5 star average from reviews. Just a little more training, Organisation communication and efficiency then this place will be one of the best restaurants to eat at in Witney! Either way, I keep coming back for the nice atmosphere and the friendly staff. So much better than Vaults. What an...

The Beekeepers team have been absolutely fabulous throughout the whole process of my booking a corporate Christmas meal for 7th December 2023 for 19 people. Daniel's communication and support during the planning of the event, was first rate as was the actual evening itself. The table settings were great and all the staff team very attentive and were accommodating of a couple of special requests, not forgetting the bar staff who were really helpful and sorted out the corporate drinks tab for us easily. All the food was served hot and on time. The whole service went very smoothly considering there were so many of us. I would like to commend the chef on great value and exceptionally well cooked and delicious dishes that completely exceeded our expectation - The Christmas Turkey pie; well that was a revelation, the pastry was flaky, crispy and cooked to perfection, it came out on the plate looking like a gloriously, huge pork pie with lots of cranberry sauce on the top! The flavour combination of the sauce in the pie was balanced and very tasty indeed - as a bit of a foodie (can't you tell) I may need the recipe! The team loved the steaks, each cooked to a pre-ordered specification and the burgers were beautiful to look at and very tasty. We also loved the pulled beef rib filled Yorkie starters and the hot n spicy bites were a triumph enjoyed by all. I highly recommend the Beekeepers to all and am sure you will enjoy their Xmas menu and service as much as we all did, it's 5 stars from Boden FM at Brize Norton and thanks to all the team for making our evening...

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. I enquired about booking for a baby shower and was immediately met with a reply email saying that it was their pleasure to help and what BFF is we want, I was directed to their website for t he pub menu and told that they could provide a private area and that we could decorate as we saw fit. There was no minimum charge and the food I bought was far too much for us so they provided takeaway boxes for us to take it home. We were regularly asked if everything was ok and empty glasses were quickly taken away. It was a pleasure from booking to leaving and I can’t think of a better place to have visited. A few notes on the food; the pizza was ace, it was like a cross bread of garlic bread and pizza, the chicken, drunken mushrooms and halloumi fries were also exceptional. The staff were all super friendly and I dealt with Sam from booking to leaving and she was an absolute delight. Thank you soo much Beehive I will do this again very soon.
