Delice — Restaurant in West Oxfordshire

Visited for lunch yesterday after reading the positive reviews however the cafe was extremely crowded, the tables are far too close together and the whole place was extremely noisy. Most of the noise came from staff members banging and clattering dishes that are cleaned behind a short wall in the middle of the cafe! After a long wait we asked if we should order at the counter but were told that someone would come take our order- strangely the waitress took our coffee order back to the counter before returning and taking our food order from us. Our cappuccinos arrived fairly quickly, not the best as they were very weak and milky. I can’t comment on the quality of the food as by the time we finished our drinks there was still no sign of our sandwiches. I saw four tables opposite being served their food despite them all arriving after us. By now my patience was running thin, the waitress passed by numerous times but she did not look our way so we got up to leave. On the way out we explained and paid for our drinks, the staff, including the owner just wanted to know who had taken our order (which they found in amongst a pile of chits at the till) instead of offering us an apology!! If there was an option for 10 stars I would give it in this case as the service was second to none, the food and coffee was exceptional and beautifully presented and the staff were soo friendly and welcoming its great to see happy people while they are working honestly if you are in the area pop in to this hidden gem it is well worth it I promise you will not be disappointed with your visit.

Me and my Mrs only went in for a quick sandwich to go as we dislike busy places however the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome instantly and offered a seat so we accepted as the atmosphere was fantastic we ended up staying for a coffee and a panini with were both amazing a good value for money but as we were in a hurry as we had an appointment but as we went to leave they had just gotten some fresh chocolate cake out of the oven and they cut some off ready and served it to us as a complimentary gift and honestly it was possibly the best cake I have had its all home made and fantastic but honestly it's just the thought that went in to giving them little tastes away that made this place so friendly, welcoming and a fantastic place to be.

Please don't change Delice I will be returning for many occasions to come. You restore my faith...

Walked in for a spot of lunch. The outside tables were nearly fully occupied and inside there were just a couple of unoccupied tables. The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. One staff member asked if we wanted first class or economy class and smiling said first was outside in the sun & economy was in the building. Having chosen economy the service was really good and attentive. The food ordered arrived swiftly and was delicious. A staff member then brought to the table two complimentary taster pieces of chocolate brownie which were really good. On going to pay I remarked that I was using my frequent flier card to the staff members and the gentleman who greeted us and sorted out our table smiled remembering his comment on our arrival and very kindly gave me free of charge a full piece of chocolate brownie to take away.
