We booked this restaurant for our Anniversary having seen the positive reviews on TripAdvisor.
When we arrived we were given a very warm welcome and the staff member even knew our name. So had looked at the booking prior to ensure our greeting was personalised.
On arrival at our table we were welcomed with a lovely signed card and two glasses of prosecco, a very thoughtful touch.
This restaurant has an amazing view of lake windermere. When booking always request a lake view table and book in advance to get a table.
The main positives, great view and fabulous staff, very attentive and helpful.
For our starters my husband had the hot wings and I had the breaded Prawns. Both were wonderful. My husband said tge wings weren't too hot to eat and really enjoyed them.
For mains my husband had the half peri peri chicken with fries and I had an 8oz ribeye with garlic butter and changed my chunky chips to parmesan and truffle fries.
My husbands chicken was a little dry but overall he did enjoy it. It would probably be better with some kind of sauce.
I had a small amount of gristle on my steak but in the main it was very tasty especially with the garlic butter. The truffle and parmesan fries were amazing.
My meal did come with a mushroom and a tomato, but as I dont like these I requested my meal without. See photo.
We did have a cocktail each, my husband had the old fashioned with upgraded bourbon and I had an Espresso martini, both were nice.
We visited on a Monday evening at 6:30 and by 7:30 the restaurant did look full so please book.
Would I recommend, yes the view and staff make up for the very slight issues with some of the food and I am...

We’re in the lakes for 1 night with our 2 girls and this was the best place to eat when searching on trip advisor, and, it did not disappoint.
We hadn’t booked in advance, but we managed to get a walk in table upstairs on the terrace, these tables aren’t covered or heated but we cant complain, we weren’t cold, it wasn’t even breezy, we were really lucky with the weather.
The food was amazing, both I, and my husband love a good steak and for it to be cooked just as we like it (me - rare, my husband - medium rare), and they were both cooked to absolute perfection. Our girls, 7 & 3 both had the cheeseburger, and we were able to change the waffle fries to house fries without any fuss.
We had the cheesecake & sticky toffee pud for desert, both delicious 👌🏼, I personally thought the sticky toffee pud was just a tad too dense, but that’s just personal preference and I still finished every last bite.
I need to give a special mention to Chubby, he looked after us throughout the night, such a friendly, bubbly guy and brilliant with our 2 girls, especially our 3 year old, super attentive and engaging with them and us, and it made our evening that little bit more special and fun.
The reviews speak for themselves so we had high hopes for a good meal, but receiving amazing service just makes your experience that whole lot better - so thank you, the perfect choice to eat and I would highly recommend to everyone if you’re choosing to dine...
Read moreWent there on a Monday after arriving at Bowness that day. Had a early dinner/tea 4 adults two children. This review is subjective by me others may have different views. Limited menue for the kids basically small portions of adult meals. They brought out drawing sheet and crayons for the kids. My son ordered some wings spicey and plain and squid. The wings were OK the spice ones very hot. The sqiud strips had no colour and were bland and rubbery. Kids burger and fries were OK the others chicken and fries looked OK but were not that apertising to a three year old, a simple stag bol would be better. Two of us had the kebabs with flat bread and salad. I found the prawns lacking in flavor. I think there were four of them. The beef kebab had nice junks of beef very tender but again lacking in flavour no spice on either. The flat bread again was OK These were£26.00 each Moon had the burger which he said was nice and my wife had a half price period chicken which she enjoyed. One of the kids wanted another burger, no fries, this seemed to confuse them somewhat. But she got it and enjoyed it. They have a camera system that shows the tables and movement and fridges with very expensive meat. The decor is industrial ,boat shed , I was expecting flavours and something more for the money. Disappointed. The views up the lake are none existent from inside, there are outside tables. Maybe they should look at somewhere like the porthmere beach cafe to make the most of...
