Oh my goodness, I have tasted some good cake I'm my time, but they are excellent bakers at BloomingSkull Coffee Shop.... add to this, today is the first time I've been, and it was a surprise visit, as we are from Yorkshire, but the Ladies, "Louise and Sophie" had heard about our Son Harry who was diagnosed with a brain tumor and said that they wanted to do Something for him, so they have Renamed a Classic Cake, now it's called Harry's Sponge Cake, (NO LONGER VICTORIA)...... They are selling this till the end of the year....... as much as its our Son who these wonderful people are baking and selling for, if your not a Harry's Sponge Cake FAN. Then go and check out the other cakes and fudges that they hand make... kind people appear when you least expect it, and these Ladies certainly are just that, thankyou so so much for your love and attention to our difficult situation. There is a bond between Yorkshire and the Wirral that will never be broken. Go down to BloomingSkull Coffee Shop, they even do plants and so...
Read moreFinding myself in Port Sunlight some time ago, I looked for a local place to get a coffee and was intrigued by the name Blooming Skull and sought it out. I found great coffee and also a charming shop run by people who are obviously passionate and knowledgable about their coffee and food. I pop in whenever I’m over in Port Sunlight or Bebington. There’s a good range of coffees from various producers and countries along with cakes, biscuits and so on. Last time I visited I had some really good sourdough toast with peanut butter. Recommended for sure. It’s great to see a small, independent business like this succeed and get a dedicated following. Pop in if you’re in the area and...
Read moreI love this place. It's a hidden gem and despite the name, that might suggest it's full of Hell's Angels, it's calm and friendly (pet friendly too). There's interesting reading matter dotted about - I got absorbed by a mini-book of Oscar Wilde quotes last time. Good vegan/vegetarian food that is very tasty, and great home-made cakes. The banana bread with peanut butter is tdf, as is the spicy avocado on toast, and you have to order the cappuccino at least once to get the hilarious skull-face dusting. Lovely people run it, easy parking nearby. Limited range (or would have been five stars) but fresh and...
