Wellington — Restaurant in Wirral

Very unhelpful staff when I discovered the location of ev chargers on their car-park whilst travelling down from Lancashire to the south, with my disabled son. Cold and wet from spending 30 mins trying to connect wanted a drink for my son and my phone re-cgarging, had become low trying to connect to the charger, infornation/instructions at the charging point not good, wanted to call the AA as lone female travelling alone. If you are going to have ev chargers advertised as at your property be prepared to be more helpful. Not all of us are iphone users or overly tech savvy!! In tge frint if my budubess in spain, where I live I have an atm machine, I certainly help people struggling I expected the sane! Obviously UK citizens are not so helpful! At 8.00 when I entered the pub I was told "we are now closed" really!!!!! They couldn't care that we were somewhat stranded on the car-park. 3 hours later, with some help from a relative living not so far away who came to our rescue we finally got on the Road with enough charge to get to the safety of service station where charger worked easily and staff were empathetic and very helpful. What should have been a 2 hour journey ended up at 7! 10 mins of help from the staff at the Wellington to charge .y phone so I could call the AA would have made such a difference!! Oh dear, what an evening! Can't complain about the food except that it's overpriced. I was one of a party of 4. I had pre-booked a table which was ready for us. We arrived just after 7 pm and ordered a drink and placed our food order. It was after 8pm when we received our starters and had to wait until 8.45 until our main course arrived. The waiting staff did apologise for the wait but were not truthful about the length of the delay, telling us that we were the next order to be ready when we were not. Someone from the kitchen, I believe she is the manager, was almost abusive when we complained. the menu has been changed (I assume because of ownership?) the food use to be good & value for money. But went here recently the prices weren’t so cheap for what you go. The food was decent, however the price of the food doesn’t reflect the pub that you’re in. I spent over £40 and that’s not including drinks or dessert. I wouldn’t come here again unfortunately. The food as I said was decent, but for the price and everything it wasn’t worth it. The drinks were a limited selection as half the drinks I wanted were offered . Whilst I was waiting, they told people they didn’t even have wine glass. It was kinda funny for a pub not to have wine glasses. Shame as use to be a decent pub, which I would with family...
