The Dee Hotel - JD Wetherspoon — Restaurant in Wirral

Absolutely a joy to walk through the door, not a sad face insight! The staff were charming and caring with a passion for serving. Today I had the all day brunch with a Pepsi max and my golly it was sublime. Never in all my years have I ever experienced eggs as perfect. The tops were hard as rocks so they never ran over my plate while the bottoms were firm and crispy allowing me to somewhat cut through them. The beans just popping in your mouth like tiny orgams of tomatoey goodness the chips were hollow like my missus, a real tuff nut to crack each one. The unsmocked back bacon never did I know you can eat bacon on the pink side! The chef must of expertly put the bacon across the chargoal grill leaving it on just long enough to get those grill lines without damageng the fat. It was stringy and gooey just like bacon should be. Then there was the sausage- BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO I have always been bit traditional with my bangers and like them in the frying pan but can understand why that can't be the case in a place like this so my sausage today were quite the surprise. Then not been done in the oven the chef had the skill and innovation to drop them in the fryer WOW Brown as my mahogany coffee table just bursting with oil, scrumptious! The place is great as its local with value priced meals, drinks and meal deals. The start of the year, the food kinda slipped. Portions went smaller, out of stock of certain menu items, quality of certain meal items not at their best. Just recently though the food seems 2b back on track. My only criticism, and this is hard as I love the place, the staff, is the womens toilets last weekend were disgusting. Unflushed, toilet paper hanging out the toilet, ripped toilet roll on floors, rubbish in one cubicle, locks broken on at least 2 toilet cubicles, sinks and surrounding vanity area littered with toilet roll, tissues, unidentifiable lumps an blobs of stuff, floors dirty. Absolutely qnd positively the worst wetherspoons in the area . The sooner wetherdpoons sell the Dee hotel in west kirby the better. Some of the long serving staff are good and helpful. However it is dark and dinggy. Most of the time the bar staff disappear the bar is empty.. At times it can be like the wild west with a very small minority of young kids being to show their Matcho violent fighting side. For some reason the FOOD tends to be poor and slow to come.I can remember years ago the local Hoylake police even objected to the licence.when they took it over the installation destroyed a lot of the accomaation. There is virtually no parking. Room for about 4 cars in the back at most.
