I ordered two scones, a portion of clotted cream and a reserved cookie on Deliveroo. And i have received a 100% wrong items in my order. Ngl whenever i buy instore, they often mixed things up (eg latte but gave me chai latte) but at least i can asked them to fix it. But this time they came with raisins scones, wrong cookie and the clotted cream isnt even enough for half scone! I bought scones with cream so many times so im sure what im talking about! GAIL need a SOP to let their staff know how much cream to put in the pot or they have one but the staff working for this order is being a joke!
I ordered two scones as im working on this bank holiday but want something for my kids for afternoon tea. And they end up having nothing as they are allergic to raisins!! I cant believe GAIL as a chain bakery can be so careless like this. This is completely unacceptable and definitely wont go to them anymore!
Attached what i have ordered, the photos are showing on Deliveroo as well, and the things...
Read moreTl:dr; food was top notch. Coffee was average, nice vibe and friendly staff.
I visited Gail’s recently with my friend. I loved the open/light feel of the store - it’s got high ceilings which make it feel even more open and welcoming.
There was a huge selection of goodies available on the counter, so we shared three - a cheese straw, a sausage roll (with tomato relish) and a cinnamon pecan crumble cake. We also each had a latte.
I would highly recommend the cheese straw and the sausage roll - both were super flavoursome. The pecan cake was nice too but a little dry - I think something like an apple compote inside it would have helped. The flavour and the crumble on top was delicious.
The coffee was average, certainly not bad but lacking in its flavour profile.
The staff were super helpful and very patient with us standing there for a good 5 minutes deliberating over all of the bakery choices!
Thank you -...
Read moreI've no complaints about the staff. They're good staff. The location is also fine, and the food is delicious. It is a branch with large windows which let the light in. All of this is great stuff.
What I don't like at all, however, is the deeply uncomfortable seating. It is almost painful after just twenty minutes of being seated. It makes no sense to me why Gail's can't provide half decent seats and chairs. Caffé Nero do so; why can't you? Why inflict this discomfort onto people when you charge £3.90 for a coffee? Also, on the subject of your coffees, the coffee is always served lukewarm and this is the case in every single Gail's I've ever been to over a period of perhaps eight years. It isn't hot enough. Ever. From now on, I'll ask for it to be "extra hot" - as that's clearly Gail's code for "regularly hot". Re the chairs, I don't know what I'll do...
