Gordon Ramsay Street Pizza and Burger: A Memorable 40th Birthday Meal š
I recently celebrated my 40th birthday at Gordon Ramsay Street Pizza and Burger in Woking, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. While I regret not having any photos to capture the deliciousness (the food was too good to wait!), I can certainly share my thoughts on this delightful dining experience.
Impeccable Service and a Special Touch From the moment we stepped in, the service was exceptional. The staff made us feel like VIPs, adding a special touch to our celebration. Itās rare to find such attentive and friendly service, and it truly enhanced our overall experience.
A Culinary Adventure: Burgers, Pizzas, and Ribs The menu offered a tantalizing selection of dishes, and we decided to explore a bit of everything. Hereās what stood out:
Burgers: Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Whether you prefer classic beef or a veggie option, the burgers here are a treat. The combination of fresh ingredients and well-seasoned patties left us craving more. Pizzas: The pizzas were a delightful surprise. Thin crusts, generous toppings, and a perfect balance of flavors. From the classic Margherita to inventive combinations, each slice was a burst of happiness. Ribs: Tender, fall-off-the-bone goodness. The smoky flavor and sticky glaze made these ribs a highlight of our meal. Pair them with a cold drink, and youāre in for a treat. Ambience and Rainy Evenings Now, letās talk about the ambience. While the restaurant canāt control the weather, our visit happened on a rainy Tuesday evening. The cozy interior provided shelter from the rain, but I imagine the experience would be even better on a sunny day or a clear night. Perhaps next time, weāll aim for better weather!
In summary, Gordon Ramsay Street Pizza and Burger is a gem in Woking. If youāre looking for a memorable dining experience, excellent service, and mouthwatering food, this place wonāt disappoint. Weāre already planning...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisclosure: 15 year hospitality experience as employee and employer. Fully aware of COVID, Inflation and the world falling down around us.
New Years Eve, made a reservation - no table prepared and only one front of house staff (who was lovely and personable).
Ordered as much as we could to gain the full experience, enquired about burger degree of doneness and was told medium-well which is fair and understandable given food safety requirements and hey, maybe they donāt grind their own beef on site so not worth risking any less.
Cocktails are basic and over-priced - but hey, itās got Gordys name on it and there are other options.
Burgers were well-done and dry, meal check didnāt occur until food was nearly completed. We did try to find someone but alas the sole server was busy with the two new tables that came in.
Informed them the burgers were Well Done - was told medium well was the goalā¦I said that I understood, then silence.
A half shot of Lemoncello was offered as a gratuity (something we really didnāt feel like after the sub-mediocre meal).
The real kicker is when asked to pay the bill at āOptional 12.5% service chargerā was added to the total and a card machine thrust in front with the full total.
Maybe because we pay our servers a living wage I was a little taken back at this but am informed the minimum wage is enforced in Hospitality even in the U.K and given the above - market prices in a middle of the road location of outer London - this was just taking the Mickey.
Bamboozled would be the single word I would use to describe the impression that was left after dining here.
I get it - I truely do, I refer to market prices, not cost prices, but if you canāt offer the service or product to match the prices then best to save oneself the embarrassment and leave the industry to the few left who still have the passion and the motivation...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited Street Burger for the second time today, my first visit having been last year. Whilst my initial experience was satisfactory enough this visit was actually pretty disapointing.
The staff are friendly and welcoming enough, and the restaurant itself is decent. But unfortunately that's about all the praise I can give on this occasion.
The biggest issue is that the menu is now insanely overpriced. A burger and fries combo will now set you back £17! Comparative to other burger joints, you can usually get a similar deal for around £13-£15. Whilst the food is decent enough in quality and taste, the portion size is modest at best and nothing I had made me feel like I got the best part of £20 quids worth out of it.
My second biggest bugbear was that gone are the endless soft drink refills. In their place you pay £3 for a can of Coke. Literally. They don't even hide the fact and just plonk a glass and a can in front of you.
Lastly, the childrens menu will set you back £8. EIGHT. QUID. Most restaurants offer a decent childrens menu for between £4 and £6.
Overall for two adults and one child I paid over £50 for lunch. Given the proliferation of burger restaurants around at the moment, many of them offering much better quality and value for money, I know I won't be visiting Street Burger again. Given that the restaurant was barely half full at lunchtime on a Saturday, I'd hazard a guess that others feel...
