Nestled in the heart of Woking, Kusina Filipina is a delightful Filipino-Japanese fusion restaurant that seamlessly blends two culinary worlds into one harmonious experience. With its cozy and inviting ambiance, it's the perfect spot for families with children to enjoy a memorable dining experience.
The first thing that captures your attention upon entering the restaurant is the warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Let's talk about the coffee! Kusina takes great pride in serving an exceptional coffee beans directly from their suppliers from India (if im not mistaken). I ordered a cup of capuccino and it was crafted with care and precision. The aromatic aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air.
Now, the highlight of the culinary journey at Kusina Filipina is the outstanding fusion of Filipino and Japanese flavors. Each dish tells a story of culinary creativity and expertise, capturing the essence of both cultures in every bite. The menu boasts a wide array of delectable options, from savory adobo-wings, sizzling terriyaki chicken sisig that was best paired with garlic rice, medium ribeye garlic terriyaki (my personal favourite), sushi rolls to ube ice cream desserts. Every dish is a masterpiece of flavour, beautifully presented and expertly executed.
The restaurant's dedication to using the finest and freshest ingredients shines through in every dish, ensuring a taste experience that exceeds expectations.
In conclusion, Kusina Filipina is a gem of a restaurant, seamlessly blending Filipino and Japanese culinary traditions to create a dining experience that is both delightful and unforgettable. Whether you're seeking a relaxing cup of coffee, a family-friendly meal, or an adventure in fusion cuisine, it is sure to exceed your expectations and leave you with a taste of...
Read moreIntrigued by the place when my friends and I walked past and smelled the food being cooked. The owner was very friendly and inviting. Super patient when we asked about the drinks (they didn't have descriptions when it came to the mocktails so we were really appreciative when they answered all our questions about all the drinks). We ordered the miso cod, the sizzling chicken sisig, and the chicken katsu curry. For drinks, my table ordered elderflower breeze, sunrise, and mango yakult.
Let me tell you, the sizzling chicken was actually spicy (a bit and I say that as a Malaysian so spice tolerance context) and goes well with their rice (their rice comes with deep fried onion shallots). Everything was well spiced and complements each other.
The kitchen is open air so you can actually smell your food cooking and see them cooking it as it's prepared.
Love it and would love to come back and eat their food again. Best to bring a small group so everyone can share food and try a bit of everything.
We also ordered sticky toffee pudding and it was AMAZING. I could smell the toffee the moment it was placed in front of me. It tasted like the nutty toffee centre of Daim sweets but not too sweet because the slight salt balanced the sweetness out. The cold ice cream countered the hot sauce of the toffee on top.
They mentioned how they just opened so their opening hours are 12 to 8 for now but would change the coming holidays and as they confirm their menu. Looking forward to the...
Read moreWe had dinner here last weekend. Generally, the food is good but the menu is quite small. Our favourite was the sizzling chicken, which was very delicious. Kinilaw is also delicious but very spicy for our taste. Chicken katsu was okay. I'm not a fan of their chicken inasal. It was salty and dry, I didn't finish it and even had my husband have some of it, he also didn't like it. There were a couple of dishes that weren't available. Be aware that they don't have alcohol license yet, so there are no alcoholic drinks and no redhorse. Make sure to bring your own alcohol if you fancy a drink. We also forgot that it's a Filipino restaurant and no such thing as starters and mains served accordingly. They come as they are cooked and served. We had our starters and mains out together, so we had so much food on our table. It wasn't an issue, but it would have been nice if the two starters came first and followed with mains after we finished the starters. The restaurant has potential, and it is not expensive. We may visit again when perhaps the menu offers a bit more...
