Substandard food. Over priced for what you get (expect small portions)
The service was slow and it wasn't even busy. For an establishment that has 'halal food' they lack a moral compass. I simply asked the waitress (Sevil) if they could allow me to pray indoors (being cold and windy outside) and it was dusk. She checked with i assume her manager and they turned around and said 'no' which to me seemed so illogical. Worst thing is there were loads of empty places inside as it wasn't busy so 🤷
Anyway it's their own premises and choice but it seemed nonsensical, so I can only put it down to them having a communication barrier or possibly being racist or discriminatory, as I've used so many dining establishments in the past and almost always unless they're packed, they wouldn't have an issue with a customer praying indoors in a quiet corner.
Would I come here again? Probably not! Hence I didn't pay the discretionary service charge.
Note to the owner: Have some compassion and care for customers of different religious faiths and don't discriminate.
Your response says it all. You only responded to the complaint cause it shows your true colours and you disregarded all the other points raised. Funny enough all other reviews mention the same thing.
I won't be coming back so don't worry...
Read moreI wish I could give a lower review! Dined here on the 23rd October after a spontaneous decision to try this local restaurant. What came after was a heavy wave of regret! The service was poor despite the initial friendly greeting, which was shocking given the fact that my partner and I were the only ones who were guests at the time. The starters we had - hummus kurvuna and grilled Turkish sausage were fine but the main courses we ordered - mixed lamb and chicken grill was awful, super disappointing and just gross. The lamb tasted totally rotten and not fresh at all. We stopped eating it and after waiting for more than 15 mins for someone to check in on us, I explained our disappointment with the dishes. The pathetic reply we received was that they were indeed fresh, which was obviously a lie. When asked why no one bothered to come and check in on our food, we were given another pathetic response "we don't bother customers and wait for them to tell us if there is an issue". The basics of customer service requires that you are literally providing a service. We didn't pay the service charge and 1 main dish was removed. Please avoid this awful place and save your money. We will definitely not return and have already informed friends and family locally...
Read moreThis was unfortunately a bitter sweet visit. My sister and I surprised a friend and took him here. As soon as we walked in the door - I was annoyed. There was a homemade sign saying no sandals and something else, the place has been here for years, everything looked the same.. just now you cannot have your toes out. My friend was told very patronizingly that he would be allowed on this one occasion. Although me and my sister were also wearing sandals..
We then get shown our table, still dirty. Mixed and matched chairs. We order bread - this is the reason we came, it's amazing and morish. After waiting almost 25 minutes for the bread, I notice people and families that sat down after us were given bread. My sister's main was then uncooked. I mean the meat was raw on the inside, she told a waiter and he offered to put it back on the grill. No apology, no customer service, just raw meat bring served. We left soon after. This was such a shame as my family and I used to love this place, but now with the printed sign at the front, the lack of customer service and the food we will not...
