First time visiting this new location and first impressions weren’t great with a queue to get in and although 3 staff at the front of house no one was really greeting or seating customers. The food we had was excellent but we were left waiting for 40 mins after finishing our mains until we could finally get someone’s attention to ask for dessert menus. 2 out of our party of 4 had to leave before this as they ran out of time before they had to be somewhere else. The restaurant didn’t seem short staffed but no one seemed to be working in a particular section. While we were trying to get our table cleared and order more food staff were busy clearing tables where customers had left and leaving tables where customers like us were still between courses/trying to order. We watched one table be wiped down 3 times by different staff members - they all seemed busy but doing their own thing rather than acknowledging or serving customers. When we finally got a waiter (supervisors?) attention I pointed out how long a wait we’d had and that some of our group had to leave and was disappointed to not even get an apology for our wait, just to be asked what desserts we wanted. Our order was taken but our table still not cleared from our mains until we piled up plates/boards on the edge of the table. One member of our party waited 15 mins after finishing our main course and then had time to do a half hour round trip to drop the 4th member of our group off before returning for dessert. Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at the new Zizzi restaurant in Woking and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The service was impeccable. Our waiter, Patrick, was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent recommendations. He truly deserves a 5-star rating! The general manager, David, was also incredibly welcoming and helpful, ensuring we had a fantastic evening. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the caramelised onion and mozzarella garlic bread, calamari, cheeky olives, and pasta crisps – all bursting with flavour and the perfect way to kick off our meal. For our main courses, we opted for the Carne Piccante Calzone and the slow cooked beef and Chianti Ragu. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and incredibly satisfying. To top it off, we indulged in the salted caramel chocolate brownie and the Tiramisu for dessert – a heavenly end to a delicious meal. No meal is complete without drinks, and Zizzi Woking did not disappoint. Their cocktail menu is impressive, and I highly recommend the Lemon Drizzle Martini, Morello Cherry Sour, and the Tiramisu Espresso Martini. Each drink was expertly crafted and bursting with flavour. Read moreCame here on 11/5 and the female waitress helped to place our order. It was not our first time here and we remember this waitress from first time we came as well. Its always a bit difficult to communicate with her. Like repeating myself and when we are finally done ordering, she told us starter would come first and main will come after, we said thats fine (i mean who doesnt know that?) and she repeated again like we dont understand or something. And i told her we fully know the process.
Then starters have arrived, we ordered Bombe which is always GOOD! But the meatball still very cold inside, we were sitting outside so waited for awhile, no one is here, we need to go in and tell the waitress the starter was cold… and when she took it away and tell us they will give us another plate. She need to tell us again the main will come even later because of the starter being cold and they need us to finish the starter first to serve the main. 😂 but then at the end our mains came together with the meatball starter and she want to explain.. i just stop and say is fine, please let me enjoy my food.
Then at the end when we pay for our bills, i asked to scan my Zillionaires Club, she was tapping on the tablet and i dont even see her scanning but she said she did.. results of course is i didnt receive any points from that meal which is very disappointing
