My wife booked a room at Premier Inn to do a photoshoot for my birthday in our room. We invited the make up artiste and the photographer to meet with us there.
When we got there, the make up artiste was allowed to go in with us when we lodged in but shortly after, she left to pick up one of the tools she forgot to come with. While we were waiting for her, the photographer got to the reception and called that he wasn't let in. So I went to the reception to ask them what was the issue. They said we are not allowed to be more than two in a room at a time. I was very surprised because we didn't know all these before we booked the hotel especially because the only reason we agreed to book the room in the first place was solely for the photoshoot and not for relaxation.
The reception at that time insisted that he couldn't go in as these are stated in their Terms and Condition. What was in these terms which was shown to us only stated that not more than 2 'occupants' would be allowed in the room but it didn't state the word 'visitors' are not allowed, so it felt very awkward.
I asked that the receptionist(s) give us other possible option and they said we could set up at the lobby which was what we did eventually. I must however mention that while I and the photographer were looking around for options beyond the reception, the make-up artist came back and walked in to the room where my wife was without anyone asking her any questions.
On getting back upstairs, I saw the makeup artist and wondered how she got back up and she said no one asked her any questions. And since she had already started my wife's makeup before i got back, I simply didn't bother asking them to go back downstairs as i felt she was allowed in.
The makeup session continued in our room upstairs for a while (about 2hrs:30mins) while the photographer set up and started taking my shots first while we waited for them to be done.
Once my wife and the make-up artiste were done, they came to the reception where this shoot was happening and the make-up artiste passed the front of the two available receptionists without any questioning at first. When she now walked back to talk to us, one of the receptionists then asked her at that time if she was with us and she honestly said yes.
It was at that moment that the whole trouble started and we were asked to leave the hotel as we had 'violated' the hotel's conditions without being allowed to sleep in or get a refund. The receptionists also threatened to call the police because we chose to ask questions on why we as guests were asked to leave and not just the makeup artist and the photographer alone.
This I believe is so unfair and I believe we were treated unjustly especially as we had paid 51 pounds for the room, lodged in at 4pm and were asked to leave 5hrs after.
It occurred on: 25/03/2024
This meant that This upset my wife and i really bad and it affected my 40th birthday plans terribly. Our moods were seriously damped and our mental health was hugely affected. I believe strongly that we suffered racist abuse from the receptionists. This is because, despite not being told that there are no visitors allowed to visit us before we booked or checked in, we still apologized and tried to appeal to them to consider but they kept insisting that we did something wrong and we had to leave the premises and even threatened us with police.
My wife is still upset as i speak.
We deserve our full refund, an apology from Premier Inn, and compensation for ruining our night...
Read moreAbsolutely appalling service from reception this morning. Took 15 mins to check out because no one was at the desk...after the first few mins of calling out and knocking on the door, I decided to pay for parking whilst I wait and was getting late for work, only for the member of staff to walk right past me into the restaurant across the alley whilst making eye contact...seeing that I would be looking to check out. After a further 5/6 mins, I then proceeded to the restaurant to inform them no one was there to check out and I'm running very late. She then went into the back only for me to hear the prior lady ask her if it was me and to leave the card at the desk. Indicating that she knew I wanted to check out and didn't bother proceeding with doing her job...causing me to be very late to work. If all I needed was to leave the card at the desk, she could have said that as she was watching me pay for parking and there should be a secure box for cards to be thrown into to prevent accusations of lost cards later. Absolutely appalling to be knowingly treated this way by someone I hadn't met. Also I know its the same person working on reception as it was choosing to ignore me as I had walked passed her after breakfast in the morning and I had pleasantly said good morning. Up to 9am at least the desk should be manned. Also you get soaked with water everytime you turn the tap on even slightly. Had to sleep in wet pjs and I don't believe they clean the rooms well...even the remote looked so dirty and grubby. So very...
Read moreWell, where do we start. Absolutely shocking and disgusting service from the onset. We were getting married on 29th August at the Grand Station next door. We had over 130 guests staying here in this hotel over 2 nights. The Manager Phil came out and told us the cars will be stolen and they cannot stay there due to the quality of cars. I went to question this personally and he denied he said this and when asked for his name covered his badge up. Luckily someone had vidoed his message of not being able to park there and got his name. Parking is £16 which they do not take responsibility for. Tracey the manager of Bluebrick also said Phil was out of order and should not have said that. The "bar and restaurant " was even worse. It was closed off, we could not have food as no chef, was told that for breakfast they could refuse us as only one member of staff on. There was no draught Moretti, madris lemonade or coke left and after serving 6 pints of Coors that had run out also.we were told delivery had not been made for a week. Many people from our day moved and booked into the Patshull Park Hotel or the Novotel instead. The evening for about 40 of us instead went to the Sunbeam pub for dinner and drinks instead and their service was incredible. We have your email of how did we do of which more detail will be added along with a letter to the CEO. In essence and to warn anyone who has an event or wedding planned at Grand Station do NOT let your guests stay here, point them to the Novotel...
