I was out with 4 of my friends n June 1st. At about 730pm we left the grain store as it was too busy and you could not get served ( we had 3 drinks due to this). I suggested going to the old still as it is a pub I used to go to in my younger days. However, as we approached a black female doorwoman shouted that I could not go in! I did not realise at first that she was a doorwoman as she was sat down on one of you chairs. I honestly thought she was joking but quickly realised that she wasn’t! She can across aggressive so myself and my friends went to the Hogs Head where we got in no pribelem at all! 5 gin and tonics later, 40 quid, nice drink and moved on to the slug and lettuce where again we had no problem! Just 5 girls out to have a dance and a good time! I found your doorwoman rude and aggressive for absolutely no reason whatsoever! She was a bully and I just wanted to make you aware of this. Read moreVisited today first time in years, decent prices, good service, mixed bag of regulars who appeared to be looking out for each other. Bar staff friendly and efficient never waited long to be served.
Warm and comfortable even sitting near the main entrance.
It's definitely an old time pub and although it's been through various changes since I first drank in there it remains an old time pub.
