My first visit today on a quiet lunchtime; stood at the bar with another customer who had been there a minute or two and wanting to buy food. Four staff stood gossiping at the other end of the bar while we were waiting. Then another customer arrived, who told us that this was normal and is why most regular customers have gone elsewhere. While the three of us stood there for another two or three minutes, three of the four female staff walked past us, not acknowledging our presence, and disappeared through a door at the back of the bar. The fourth barmaid then wandered into the pub leaving the serving side empty. After returning to her post, she served the first customer, taking, trust me, over five minutes, during which time several other customers were waiting.etc etc. when returning for the next round the service was equally appalling. How do they keep customers. I've never encountered such such disdain from staff in a pub....

First time we've visited in a while, after managing to find the door through the cloud of smoke at the entrance we made our way to the bar.

I asked for a large lemonade and was given a glass of ice cubes topped up. The tables were sticky, we moved seat twice.

Disappointed to discover they nolonger do food, used to be smashin grub.

Three years since my initial 3* review I've had to come back edit and give it 5*, visited 18/12/24 middle of the day a few people in, eclectic tunes (Jimmy Nail, Dolly Parton and all sorts of other artists), sports on TV and a cracking pint of Guinness and a very reasonable price. I...

Lovely place, exceptional service. the friendly barman commented on how ace my beard was. The tv's are excellent in quality and quantity. I had a numero nuno served in a propa pint glass, which I tool one sip and needed another pint pulled straight away. Excellent ale. I will most defiantly be visiting this pub again on match days and nights out with my mates. All in all great pub for food or just a quiet...
