Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet, I have eaten here so often. This is the no.1 Cantonese restaurant in Wolverhampton. It's nice being able to actually sit down and enjoy Cantonese cuisine in an area which is mostly taken away.
Service - From the time you go in, the service is wonderful, they are so friendly here and do there best to accommodate you. A family run business and they work so well together. The head waitress will take a great photo for you ha ha. You can see they have regulars as there are often hugs between the diners and staff, I hope to get to this point one day #aspirations lol
Food - always on point and never disappoints. They have an extensive menu with both the usual expected Cantonese dishes alongside some extras and they also have a traditional menu for the more adventurous which is a great touch. You can request this. I have tried any different things here and I am yet to find nothing I don't like. The food is fresh, cooked to order and prepared quickly so minimal waiting time.
Atmosphere - it is a nicely decorated restaurant with a nice low lighting and has a nice ambience. It's suitable for dining with friends, family or even by yourself. It can get busy on Fridays and Saturdays or when the theatre is on.
Overall I absolutely love this place, they have been going strong for so many years and I hope they continue to do well. The only sad thing for me is that they do not open on my birthday in late August as they are on holiday so I can never have my birthday meal here 😞 loool but hey they deserve the break. I will...
Read moreLovely restaurant, a little small, but they have seating upstairs for guests. We were served with a friendly polite smile. Service was very quick considering they were very busy with people going to the theatre.
We had roast pork dumplings to start, they were delicious, favourite starter for me. I had sizzling beef and my partner had chilli and coriander prawns. Both nicely seasoned. The beef had a lovely sauce with onions and peas. My partner had a nice red onion salad with his prawns, which was nice I had a bit. I like red onions better that white..
We shared a red bean dumpling, I didn't like it, my partner ate it all. Overall that was just personal taste. I would highly recommend going, but definitely book especially if it's a night for the theatre goers.
Will definitely be going back. If you could put custard buns on the menu, that would be great. They are my...
Read moreI've lived in Wolverhampton the majority of my life but last night was the first time visiting The Queen's.
We popped in on a whim, as we hadn't booked we had to wait a few minutes before being seated, there was a vacant table downstairs and one upstairs (we ended up going upstairs).
The staff were polite enough but only the young lady who served our table and young man who greeted us on arrival managed a friendly smile. We were asked repeatedly if we were going to the theatre sometimes by the same staff member.
The drinks were priced about where you'd expect, the food was good, I had the beef with bamboo shoots and mushroom and the meat just melted in the mouth.
£42 for two people including one round of drinks, it's more expensive than some other places but we enjoyed ourselves and glad I...
