If you're looking for a traditional gem of a pub in the centre of Worcester city, then you won't go wrong choosing the Imperial Tavern. A proper authentic boozer with a wonderful choice of real ales and ciders all very helpfully displayed on a notice board just inside the front door so you can choose your tipple before you go in. My partner who is a bit of a real ale connosuire, really rates the care and taste of the beers. The pub has retained many original features with plenty of seating arranged around an L shape, including some more private little nooks. There's a Dart board, 1 fruit machine and 2 TVs where the latest sports events are played but chat is still very easy. There's an open fire in the front bar area. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Service is prompt, and there are plenty of other choices of drinks, including one of my faves, Gin with aromatic tonic. Lovely. Filled rolls, crisps, nuts, and other bar snacks are also available. I'm a middle-aged woman and would say it's welcoming to me. I also recently asked to book a few tables for drinks with about 20 friends to celebrate a birthday. This was all supported with ease and friendliness. This is not really a place for families or children, and anyone with mobility needs will have to encounter a step up into the pub. Nearest parking The exchange car park is pay and display and still takes cash aswell as card. A very short walk from Foregate St rail station and Worcester bus station. Plenty of eateries surrounding the Imperial. I recommend you pay this pub a visit. A real island of calm in a busy...

Added to that fab live music from a wide range of excellent musicians every Sunday at 5pm. Also a great quiz every Wednesdsy at 8pm with good prizes and free food. Fred and Denise are lovely warm people - with welcoming hugs and big smiles. We arrived as newbies and left as friends. The pub has an attractive exterior & traditional spacioius interior - very clean. The bar is long and service was speedy and good natured- even when it got busy. Although the Imperial has been trading many years, it's a new venue for our gang. We'll definitely be returning for more music evenys and to have a go at the quiz. A great visit - thanks for making us feel so welcome. ... we'll...

The staff are very welcoming, friendly and engaging and there is a great selection of real ales, lagers and ciders (also plenty of soft drinks too for those who are driving/don't drink alcohol).
The pub is in a fantastic location (less than five-minute walk to Worcester Foregate Street train station) and has multiple TV's that show live sports, plus a state-of-the-art darts board too.
I would definitely recommend The Imperial Tavern to anyone who is looking for a pub in the heart...
