KFC Worthing — Restaurant in Worthing

Sunday late afternoon.

Sign on front door stating “cash only” slightly inconvenient but never mind.

Walked in and waited at the counter for the group of 5 children who were “serving” to finish talking and hopefully at least acknowledge me.

I looked around and noticed only 4 customers sitting eating. No other customers. A young man approached the POS after loudly saying to his colleagues “don’t really wanna serve, can’t be bothered”

He then simply raised his head at me prompting an order from me, (no verbal greetings or pleasantries.)

I ordered a zinger tower meal. Something was wrong with the till so assistance was called, and after a a lot of heel dragging, sighing,and a touch of colourful language , the issue appeared to be resolved.

I sat at a table and awaited my order. Whilst sat there I noticed how FILTHY the floors and tables were throughout the whole place. (No excuse when there were half a dozen staff standing about chatting)

My attention was drawn to the prep area by the bad language that was very clear to hear. They were complaining about having to make a hash brown. I also noticed the cabinets where the chicken would sit, were ABSOLUTELY FILTHY with grease.

The fact the place was empty and there was no chicken in the hot cabinets I assumed my meal would be fresh and prepared to a decent standard. At the very least - hot! (After all....there were at least half a dozen staff there to do it!)

My order was being bagged up when I noticed one of the employees whispering to his colleague who was doing the bagging....then they giggled and one of them looked directly towards me (I assume to check I wasn’t watching)

My food was handed to me, and I left ....(being most careful not to slip on the greasy floor)

I sat down to consume my meal HONESTLY no longer than 5 minutes later. The chips were STONE COLD!!! I then checked the burger.....the chicken was warm. But the hash brown and the bread bun were literally cold to touch.

Based on the state of the place and the arrogance, rude, suspicious behaviour from the staff, and the fact my freshly prepared meal was cold.... I didn’t chance it....straight in the bin! (Apart from the Pepsi Max....that was nice.)

KFC WORTHING, I will not return, you seriously need to train your staff and clean...

This franchise is very badly run with poor attitude. I went in ordered and collected food opening the bag and touching the food when looking through for the sauce they usually put in the bag. There wasn't any so I asked can I have some ketchup please. The person said no. I asked why he said there is none. I questioned this as they always have had ketchup. He said they ran out. Okay shouldn't happen but could through human error or supply problems I guess. I asked if they had any of the ketchup they give out with the round dips. He said no. I could physically see the ketchup on the side. I asked politely again. The unbadged older male came over and said not for you. I questioned this and he said you can pay extra for it. This alarmed me as if they have messed up not ordering a free condiment why then charge extra for it. £1. I could get a whole bottle not a small pot. I said I wanted to complain. The senior guy with no emotion took the food back and refunded me. I asked what would the head office do, say give a loyal customer the ketchup or possibly loose loyal customer? He said no he didn't want to give me the ketchup. He took back the food and put it all back on the serving racks!!!! I had touched all of that and now not fresh. Having run a franchise business I can tell you these actions would be an offence to the agreement and broke a number of rules including hygiene. Whilst I had been there days before there was a fight after staff angered patrons. I now realise it was likely to be caused by the staff and so will not return to this branch. Note Goring branch does have good service. Head office however do not reply...

Ordered a tower box meal along with an extra 2 pieces of chicken and a couple of sides from the Chapel Road KFC branch and I couldn't be more disappointed. The so called "regular fries" barely had any chips in as you will see from the pictures I've included, the Tower Fillet Burger was an absolute mess with all the mayo in the box instead of the burger and a slice of cold rubbery cheese. The 2 pieces of chicken I ordered as extra were incredibly small and barely classified as a wing, let alone a chicken piece. A corn on the cobb side was tiny, so was the gravy and the coleslaw was only half filled. The food was barely warm upon arrival. Tried to call the store to complain only to discover that the phone number listed online comes up as invalid and there isn't a phone number listed on their website, which is convenient for them I'm sure. Absolute disgrace and will NEVER be using them again. Do not buy from this particular KFC if you actually expect to receive what you pay for and want value for money, you WILL be disappointed and...
