My husband and I took my parents to this restaurant this afternoon. We went in at 3:00pm for a late lunch/early dinner which was nice because there weren’t a lot of people there and we figured we could beat the dinner crowd. In total, we made a table of 7. Four adults and three older kids ages 10-14.We went in and the hostess, who more than likely was just having a rough day asked how big the party was without so much of a how are ya only to roll her eyes and let us know that we would have to wait for 20 mins. Cool. We will wait. We are a table of 7 after all. While we waited, we watched several other tables being sat prior to us understandably since we were a bigger party. The issue came from the fact that they made us wait for 20 mins only to be sat at a BOOTH meant for six (maybe) and it was a booth that sat empty the entire 20 minutes we had to wait even though there was a larger table available and stayed available during our entire visit. We made it work though thinking it was a lack of staff because let’s be honest, good staff are hard to find these days. So four of us scrunch on one side while the other three scrunched on the other. All the while my poor husband was hanging off the side of our side of the booth. We were never offered a different alternative and even asked for a chair to put at the the end of the table but alas, no chair was given. We ordered our food which is when problem number two came occurred. I specifically asked for the mushroom jack burger and conversed with the waitress to see if I could get it as a burger and not on chicken. She said it could be done and went to put it in. Our table was rarely checked on and even though the waitress joked about how crowded our table look (we weren’t laughing) she never helped clear off plates and such that weren’t being used to make more room. I ended up having to move the extras to a table next to us so we could get room. When our food did come, my burger was indeed chicken not a burger as we agreed so I had to wait for my food while my family finished their meals without me. By the time my order was corrected, my family was done eating and ready to go. At this point I was frustrated and finally just grabbed a chair from another table so that we could have more room. Another waitress helping ours during our second check in even made the remark of how it was hard to move around me and the chair to get to my husbands drink to FINALLY get his refill. The final straw for me with this establishment was when we got up to leave, the bus boy couldn’t push us out fast enough as he started bussing the table while my dad was trying to get out of the booth and jacket on. I was so disappointed in the service and lack of concern for the customers. We are from the Lubbock area and came to visit my parents and actually suggested this restaurant because we have only ever had good experiences in our Lubbock location. Never judge a book I guess because this will be the last time we come back to...
Read moreNew management and ownership? I changed my review this place has really turned around and everything is high quality and delicious.
My family and I went to this location last night to celebrate a birthday. I really felt bad for the person who chose that is their place to celebrate. Just like the review before us our server seemed to not be able to to be bothered. The first thing that was very frustrating we had asked for table and was told there would be a wait because all of the tables in the restaurant were full now keep in mind the restaurant itself had very few patrons. I noticed that there were two tables that were in the bar area so I just said can we not have one of those. The hostess agreed and began to set us at one of those tables the bartender said oh yeah both of those tables are broken so we went ahead and agreed to have a seat in a booth.ironically not long after we came in another larger party was saddened to a different area where there were several tables I just don't understand that mentality. The next we had ordered the advertised drinks that were the swirl lemonades I believe and we're told that the machine for those were out I asked the bartender if she could have just make them by hand now I've been in the food and beverage business for a long time and I can't imagine any drink that can't be made by hand but we were informed they just weren't as good that way so we decided to only have the waters that we had. We went on to order and several other items were not available. Our salads artived and we were then informed they were out of croutons. They Caesar salad which I've had here before had dressing that had an overpowering smell and taste of anchovies I'm not sure if it was old or just too much it been put in in preparing it. I am a very picky steak eater and I'm aware of that so I always order my steak specifically not medium medium rare I tell them I would like it to have a cool red center when my steak arrived it was definitely medium with a warm pink center. Not generally a big deal but with all the other issues it was just kind of frustrated in addition both of the potatoes that I had on my meal and the other people at our table also ordered a sweet potato were way way over cooked. I'm enclosing a picture of what we got cannot for rolls one of the big attractions of this place is how delicious they're bred normally is and being on a low-carb diet we don't do this very often but the roles might as well have been hockey pucks literally refer...
Read moreWe had a great meal. Everything was absolutely delicious. The filet mignon was tender and juicy; absolutely mouthwatering. The bread speaks for itself. I could eat a couple dozen of those rolls. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
We gave our review 5 stars for the GREAT FOOD. It is well deserved.
However, a couple of areas with room for improvement:
One note to the kitchen manager: Keep an eye on product and rather than running out, send someone to the local grocery store for basic items. Customers don't want to hear "We are out of...", it wreaks of poor management & planning. We ordered a baked potato to go with our steak and had to hear the "We are out" routine. Simply so easily avoidable. Set yourself apart and don't let such mishaps take place under your watch. Rise above mediocrity.
Lastly, we've reached out to corporate, and we'll see if they properly address this issue, but...as an FYI: We signed up for the Logan's Rewards program tonight. You earn 1 point for every $1 spent. The welcome email unequivocally states "Every dollar you spend at Logan’s Roadhouse will earn you points." Yet, our $63.83 pre-tax bill only earned us 37 points. The other $27 was spent on alcoholic beverages, which apparently did NOT earn rewards points. If alcoholic beverages do NOT earn points, then spell that out up front and DO NOT claim, "Every dollar you spend at Logan’s Roadhouse will earn you points."
Great meal. Can't wait for the next visit to a Logan's Roadhouse.
Update:
Kudos to corporate for resolving the rewards points issue. They acknowledged ALL points should have been awarded. They have since added the missing points AND confirmed they've reached out to their IT folks to make sure this is resolved and does not happen again.
They've made a loyal customer out of us, on top of our existing fondness for...
