I had the worst experience ever in a yarn shop On the Central Kansas Yarn Hop today. The Abilene yarn shop has a bargain basement where good discounts can often be found. Today we were told that anything in the basement is 30 to 50% off the price. I discovered a bag of yarn i wanted in the discount area, and inquired about the price as it was unmarked. I was rudely told the yarn didn't belong in that area as it was taken out of my hands. She went upstairs to check with the owner, and returned to let me know that it was new yarn and was mistakenly dropped while they were putting yarn away. She pulled the curtain and flung it into the back room. Neither giving me the opportunity to inquire about the yarn further, nor offering the promised discount. The owner is informative, joyful, in love with the craft and so sweet. The store offers a large variety of hand dyed yarns, specialty yarns and even fiber to spin. There is also a lovely variety of notions. The owner enthusiastically shared her interesting spinning wheel with us and answered all of our questions.
