Huey Luey's Mexican Kitchen & Margarita Bar — Restaurant in Acworth

My family and I have been here many times and it’s always a hit! We are always pleasantly greeted at the hostess stand, quickly walked over to our table and thankfully we have always had wonderful servers. This time our server was Maddie and she was excellent - very welcoming, friendly, attentive. She asked if we had dined with them before and welcomed us back. My husband and I both ordered a 22oz margarita (they have the BEST margs!) and the $11 lunch special. I had the beef quesadilla, chicken tortilla soup and rice. Delicious! It was a nice size plate and I ended up taking some home. My husband tried the enchiladas and also took some home. Try their queso with your chips & salsa. Very good! The restaurant itself is always clean and all of the staff are always friendly/smiling. They do have a rooftop area (21+) but we haven’t checked it out yet since we usually have our kiddos with us. I absolutely LOVE their fajitas (never disappoints) and that’s what I typically order but their quesadilla from their lunch special was really good! Definitely one of my favorite local restaurants. And they have to-go margs?! Seriously the best!

I've had 4 visits to this restaurant since moving to the area a few months ago. 1 visit was dine-in with friends, 3 visits online to-go orders for lunch.

The food quality and taste is impeccable. Everything I've had has been absolutely amazing.

The service is excellent - the only issues I've had are from 2 of my 3 online orders. While not major issues, they are still a problem that I want the restaurant to be aware of to address. Both orders were the birria tacos with everything that is normally included. One time it was missing the beef consumé, which was disappointing considering that is a central part of the meal. The other issue happened on today's visit where the pickled onions were missing. Again, not a huge problem, but it is part of the meal and the taste of the dish. I can understand if product was unavailable, but that seems unlikely given this was 1 pm on a Friday- also I would expect to be notified if that were the case. My money is on the fact it was simply forgotten, which is a shame.

Still, this restaurant is one of the best around the area and I highly recommend it to all. I ask the management to look into the above issues to ensure the customer experience is perfect 100% of the time and can use this review to develop better practices to ensure order accuracy and/or customer notification.

Ordered online- and for my kid’s order selected fries, and put a side note to add a little side of refried beans- they skipped that and gave my kid a whole side of refried beans- the girl who packed my food was sweet and had the gumption to speak on her manager’s behalf, we both said it was a misunderstanding, so I asked for fries, my child changed her mind and said how about rice after looking at her large pile of refried beans. The manager said would have to charge me for $3 to give her a side of rice. What?!! So they misunderstood my order, granted I get there was confusion but you can’t grab a ram of rice so please the customer’s child? I had a $30 order $6 tip and this tight manager couldn’t come up with a small 4 oz cup of rice? That’s ridiculous and he lost me a customer. I live 5 minutes down the road. You’re a terrible manager- too concerned with your bottom line than make a little girl’s dinner complete? Here’s a picture of this disgusting lime that was in my food- a rotten lime is in his budget to serve people. I worked in the restaurant business over 10 years. Sometimes you have to meet people in the middle to not lose a customer, and trust me, word of mouth of this sour taste with affect his bottom line. Was...
