We're staying over in Acworth on our way from Florida to Tennessee and came across this wonderful place. In all fairness, we had originally decided on another restaurant that had over 1,300 reviews, but when we drove up to it, they were closing for an employee dinner. Boy was luck in our favor tonight!
Initially we weren't sure because this place only had around 45 reviews but we decided to give it a try. As soon as we walked in,we understood why. This place is brand new! It even smells brand new. It is super clean and features modern furnishings with a little mexican flair.
Our server was Marvin (or Melvin, sorry if I got it wrong!) and he was quick to the table and fast with our menus and drinks. Our chips and Salsa got to the table about the same time he did.
We were debating the guacamole and decided to give it a try, so we ordered it. What we didn't realize is that is made tableside in front of you! Excellent Flavor and fresh ingredients!
We had 4 of us in our group and three of us ordered tacos while the other ordered the supremo burrito. No-one left unsatisfied (or hungry!) as the portions were HUGE and the seasonings were authentic and perfect. I think those may have been some of the best refried beans I have had in years.
All in all, it was a great value for the money, as all four of us ate until we were full and the bill was less than $60. If we are ever in Acworth again we will definitely come by again. Special thanks to Obar the manager for coming by our table after we finished and checking on how everything was. He gave us a little history on the restaurant and welcomed us to come back.
Great experience all...
Read moreOk, so, not that my word means very much, or that I have alot of followers, but I kinda don't want this place to blow up. It has been open for around 6 months (at the time of this review) and it has the highest ratings for a Mexican restaurant in at least a 20 miles radius. I thought it was a fluke. I was wrong. This place is a diamond in the rough, a hole in the wall, a hidden gem.
I have finally found a Mexican restaurant in our area worthy of visiting again!
Not that it matters, but, I have been to Mexico many many times and I absolutely love the food there! I have kept the standards from going there, in search of a good restaurant here. Which isn't an easy task. Which is why, I have been to many here and never gone back to 99% of them. All of the items on this menu may not be "true Mexican" but wow, they deliver. We got birria egg rolls with sauce dip and Chipotle sauce, ridiculously good. I went on a limb and got a burrito that had fried plantains in it (in got them on the side, because i didn't wanna risk not liking it over that, but ate them together after tasting it) and it was so good! The plantains gave it a very subtle sweetness that complemented the burrito nicely.
We also got the Loco rice with chicken, steak and shrimp, and it was delicious! Giant strips of steak and chicken covered in queso. It hit the spot. Even the complementary salsa was fresh, and had good flavor. The chips weren't the thin flimsy chips at other restaurants. They were thicker and could actually hold salsa for more than 1 second.
Huge fan. Don't change a thing. Please don't flood this...
Read moreIt's not the same. Apparently the new management has replaced every single old employee with new staff. That's honestly not even the worse part. It's the food quality. It's not that it is bad quality, it's just not the same. The fried chicken tenders aren't the same, decent sure but I call it mid range level Mexican now, when it used to be the best. They no longer allow you to order individual tacos from their menu, except a very specific one. I asked for a Margaritta and was told they didn't have a bar tender, on a Saturday night around dinner time.
The salsa also isn't the same. Again it's not bad salsa but its not the same and not as good as it used to be. The sauce for the Chilie Coloardo is also not the same. Sure it taste okay but it has absolutely no spice or kick in comparison.
The quesabirra tacos also, not the same. The beef consume is not even the same color, the beef lacks that genuine quesabirra flavor because the consume it's supposed to be cooked in, isn't correct. (In comparison to how it used to be)
By the time a bartender showed up, the Margaritta was very sub par. If you do plan to order drinks, expect them to be lacking, safer to stick with a beer.
Wife had the Birra Ramen and guess what? Not the same. Eggs over cooked, lacked the same amout of birra that used to be in it, although the color for the ramen broth looks more accurate and on par to how the birra consume should look.
All on all. It's not bad, it's just not the same and not as good as it used to be. I give this 2 stars out...
